Hotel Guest Reviews of the Affinia Gardens
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.December 9, 2011

The Affinia Gardens is a little gem of a hotel. I regularly visit NYC due my work and thought that I knew of all the nicer hotels where one can find a good rate. Due to the need for a last minute reservation and my regular spots having no vacancies, I gave the Affinia Gardens a shot and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a quiet US location. The rooms are very spacious with attractive decor. The bed was very comfortable and galley kitchen was useful. I will be a guest of the hotel again. ...

never use the Affinia chain again!
I have never experienced the amount of rudeness as my recent stay at the Affinia Gardens. The front desk clerk, Pedro Hilario, was extremely unprofessional with us. My encounter with him completely ruined our weekend getaway.

Lots of space especially since we had our kids with us. Parking is a pain and was expensive, but that is to be expected for NYC.

next room had a bug and a mouse.
The first room was full of food on floors in all rooms. Kids fingerprints all over the mirror. Had to wait one day to move to different room. That room had a bug and saw a mouse. Hotel in need of major rehab. They used to have coffee all day in the lounge and now only until noon.

Upon checking in they did not have my reservation and I had to wait for around while people called reservations departments at their main office or something. They kept referring to me as booking on bookings.com etc and it made me feel awkward. when they finally got my reservation they said the room was not available and showed me a different type of room, I misunderstood at first and thought it was my only option. After squaring away that the room I reserved would just be a while I took the offered room at a lower rate...that was a mistake! After a couple of hours I had to ask to be switched because all I could hear was banging stairwell doors, the elevator going up and down and all sorts of ruckus..I think that is why they try to get rid of that room. So, I had to pack my bags and move to a new room which was as I first reserved and they instituted my original rate. The one room suite was spacious as I was traveling alone and had a nice ground floor patio too. I did not make use of the kitchenette but it was nice to know it was there if I so desired. For the most part my stay from this point forward was quite nice. I am surprised at the amazing amount of noise from the hallways that is audible through out what I now think is all rooms. Every time a guest closes a door it echos down the halls and into your room, they could really stand to do some maintenance to help reduce the noise. The hotel could also stand to do some repair work on the door to my patio which is accessible for staff from the outside as the doorknob what super loose and hanging off, the deadbolt did not work at all and people smoking cigarettes out their windows above would leave me with butts on the ground every morning! ...

On a quiet street, but accessible to restaurants, grocery and lots of taxis. We especially appreciated the quietness of the rooms. We loved having a kitchen and saved lots of $ using it. The bonus is the pillow menu--we tried several.
