Beds were extremely hard. Luckily we were tired and could sleep.

We had to wait to check-in because no one was at the desk. If i had not ask for a non-smoking room we would have gotten a smoking room. The shower was broken and tiny, the window would not open and had mold all around it. As soon as we got there we noticed that the whole place smelled like smoke. Upon arrival this hotel seemed to be fine. The initial staff was very nice. Although the hotel lobby looked decent, it smelled horrible. As we traveled down the hall to our room, the floor was uneven the molding was falling off. It smelled of mildew very badly. The ceilings were peeling and brown/black from mold and water damage. The room was very dingy and the train went by very loudly waking us up about every hour and half. We almost went to sleep in the car because my boyfriends allergies were so bad inside due to the mold. Me and my wife arrived at this hotel on September 1st 2012. To start off, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures. I will say that 20 years ago it may have, but not now. It's running down horribly. We were never expecting anything great, heck we weren't expecting anything good for that matter. The hotel staff was very nice. Very personable. The hotel lobby is actually decent. Has an older feel to it. We check in and the first issue was the rate. We head to the room. It's on the fifth floor of the hotel, do guess you could say we got the penthouse suite. We opted to take the elevator which looked and sounded like something off of an 80's horror movie. So we exited the elevator to find that it was an oven! Outside temp currently is 72 degrees this floor is at least 20 degrees hotter! The walls are severely water damaged to the point the drywall is falling apart, and the strong odor of mold and mildew completely take you over. So at this point we push on to head to the room. We discover that the room isn't much better. The ceiling is water damaged, smells like mold and cigarette smoke. The best part is there is blood stains on the curtains! The AC system is ancient and barely works, and sounds like a NY city bus. I booked a smoking king room so the smoky smell didn't faze me. The problem is that I didn't actually receive a smoking room at all! When I went down stairs to ask about it, I was told once again that the manager messed up and booked me a non-smoking room. So I asked to change rooms, and to no avail, there isn't any remaining. The breakfast isn't included in the price, and it's very limited. The bed is actually ok in the comfort level, and cleanliness. Would I ever return to this hotel in the future. Only if I have the privilege of knocking it down myself. But on the upside it does have an arcade.

This hotel was better than I thought. It was clean, staff friendly.The only thing is there are not many GOOD places to eat in this town.Junk food you can find but not quality food or ethnic food.
