Hotel Guest Reviews of the Americas Best Value Inn And Suites Bismarck
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 6, 2013

Stay away from this particular America's Best Value Inn. Staff was lazy and our experience has told us that this was the first and last time we would be using Priceline for any of our travel needs.

I've stayed here a handful of times now and each time it gets better. It seems they are spending money to upgrade the rooms every chance they get. The rooms aren't large and I don't know if they'd work if I was with my family but they are quite nice for the star level and for the money compared to other 2 star hotels in Bismarck. I would definitely stay here again for business.

Facility-wise, this is the best ABVI I have seen anywhere. It is a legitimate 2 star facility. The first night, I got in late and crashed. The next morning I asked one of the maids if she could find a coffeemaker for my room. She said she'd see what she could do. I returned around 6PM, and told the desk clerk that I'd spoken to one of the maids, but still had no coffee maker. She informed me that if the maid had not found one, there was none available. I asked whether there might be one in a vacant room, and she curtly told me that if there were, it would stay right there, and that some rooms included a coffee maker in their rate. (Never heard that one before.) I went out to dinner, and later came down to the breakfast room, across from the lobby, to get some tea, and got to gabbing with a woman who was down there for something as well. I mentioned my experience with the clerk, and must have glanced toward the desk - and that is where things got weird. The clerk very loudly asked (from forty feet away) "Are you talking about me?" When I admitted that I was, she started yelling her version of why she was right in what she had told me. The poor woman guest was horrified, and asked whether she might loan me the coffeemaker from her room, since she and her husband had no use for it. The clerk then started screaming at that guest that the coffee maker in her room was to stay right there, causing her to flee the scene, practically in tears. The next morning at check out, I related this to the general manager, who told me that the night clerk had worked there six months and had had very few complaints. Short of a formal apology from ABVI, which I do not expect, I will never again stay at that facility. ...

We already knew about the hotel and have mentioned it to several people who travel that direction. We'd recommend it to anyone who wants to know where there is a good place to stay.
