Hotel Guest Reviews of the Americas Best Value Inn Beckley

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff were very nice people.
It was nasty, the mattress was falling apart, it Smelled, The a/c heat did not work. The lights were mostly all burned out. The blow dryer did not work. There were two towels and when I asked for extra we had 4 total. Extremely disappointed.

Save your money! There is a reason it is cheap and it is because they don't clean. Very very sisappointed

Unfortunately, there was not one aspect of this hotel that I liked.
The fact that I had to walk up a rusty, crumbling outdoor fire escape to get to my room. The ceilings were stained, moldy, and obviously leaking water during rainfall. The "spa" was a hottub in the parking lot surrounded by some barn-looking outbuilding

Never will I reccomend this hotel to anyone. It left me wondering if Priceline had any clue, or evidence with which to assign a two star ranking. The moldy smell permeated the hallways and guest rooms. The ceilings were moldy and stained. A "queen" room provided only two small pillows and a decades old blue blanket for the bed. I could not prop myself up to sit in the bed. The Staircase was a rusted out fire escape that shook when you walked on it, with unsecure handles. A guest had to leave through outside doors just to reach the staircase. The furniture was extremely dirty and covered with some sort of "fuzz". The desk clerk was rude. Come on priceline....you can do better than this! Had I been a customer who was not "locked in" to the room, I most certainly would have found alternate accomodations. I'm sorry, Priceline, I hate to be so negative, and rarely complain, but the standards at "America's Value Inn" were simply unacceptable. Sincerely, Laura K Bogden ...read more

Our view was overlooking a gas station, the stair rail was rusted with the attachment to the stairs rusted and broken. I am pretty sure there was something sticky on the carpet near the desk and the bed sheet did not fully cover the mattress.

Pay extra and stay somewhere else. The room did not feel clean, the front desk accidentally gave us a key to another person's room. We would've walked in on them, but luckily they had the latch on or they would have had a surprise guest at 12:30 am. The breakfast was sub par with off brand danishes and fruit cups and really bad coffee.

The hotel was just ok. The staff did what they were suppose to do.
What I didn't like about this hotel was the floor creaking as I walked through my room, the chairs full of stains and hairs in the bathroom. Also while watching tv it just completely snowballed out and never came back on.

The hotel was just ok. The staff checked me in ok, but made me feel like I was interrupting their time. For the price it wasn't bad. Clean simple breakfast in the morning. I found some items left from the previous guest but it was no big deal to me. Very quiet overall but very outdated and didn't want to put my things on the chair because they looked so dirty.

The price was the only thing I liked about this hotel
This place is run down, old , dirty, and their continental breakfast was totally subpar. we booked this thru your express deals and it was marked as a 2 star hotel. There is no way this is a 2 star hotel. Priceline, you let us down this time.

old, run down, staff not very professional, not worth the money

This hotel is old and run down. Not worth the money. Staff is not very professional either. Next time I will pay a little more money and get a nicer hotel.

Easy access to I-77.
Cold outside = freezing in the room as the heat was off. It warmed up eventually but still, you knew we were coming, how about a little heat. Save money other ways.

The woman at the desk was very helpful and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean.
Wallpaper was unattached from the wall, the carpets were dirty,we did not have enough towels/washrags for two,and we had some trouble at 10 at night finding lights in the room. All of the outlets were unplugged. We found that very odd.Breakfast was minimal

Compared to other America's Best in which I have visited, this one was below that standard. Dirty carpet, insufficient number of towels/washrags for two, peeling wallpaper, cobwebs in the corners, no lighting for entrance after dark as all outlets were unplugged, and a breakfast that could hardly be classified as continental were a few of the expectations that we feel were not met. ...read more
