Hotel Guest Reviews of the Americas Best Value Inn - Gaylord
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.January 29, 2013

The hotel was clean and comfortable, although the smell of cleaners in the lobby was a little strong.

This is an awful hotel. The pool and hot tub had so much chlorine that it was impossible to enjoy. It was even difficult just to breath in the pool area due to the chlorine. The staff was rude and unprofessional. Under no circumstance I would
ever stay at this hotel again.
I would not even recommend it to my enemies.

The room was simple & clean enough, and had a couple of bars of soap. I was most disappointed by the way I was treated upon check-in. The man at the counter hardly made any eye-contact with me, he mumbled directions to my room quickly & without any care as to whether I understood (I didn't & I went the wrong way.) When I went to the desk to check out the following morning, there was a handwritten note on the desk to leave your room key on the desk. There were people smoking right outside the entryway to the lobby. The doors were dirty. The bed was comfortable, the sink looked like it was new within the past 6 months, and the water pressure/heat of the shower was good. The blow dryer did not work.

no shower.
The card key did not open my room door. The front desk employee said the battery for the lock was dead and the manager was out of town for the weekend, so my mom and I would have to take turns leaving the room. If we got locked out, he was available to let us back in. The room wasn't especially clean, but I could have lived with it for one night. Then in the morning, I wanted to take a shower and couldn't even do that. Although the tub had a showerhead, there was no way (lever, movement of the faucet handle, chain, anything) to make water flow through the showerhead. I should be able to leave the room freely and easily wash my hair in the morning.

It is nothing glamorous, but I needed a budget hotel to stay after a business trip that would be decent. This was perfect for that, cheaper than anything else in the area and gave me a good night's sleep.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in either alone or with my family. No towels in rooms. No towel racks (except for the broken one in our room). No ice bucket or cups in room. No service. No person available at front desk the day we checked out. There was a phone on the counter that said to call a number for service, but when you called, no one came or answered. Holes in the room walls. Crack in the wall in room from ceiling to floor, get larger and larger on way down. No floor board on the corner with the hole. No air-conditioning in hallways or lobby. Dirty. Holes in headboard. Pool was unsafe. Liner of pool was bubbling and at top of waters edge, pool liner was handing down and floating on top of water. Hot tub was dirty. Should have been condemned. Also, pool was not heated. It was frigid. We could not even stay in it because of the condition of the pool. I contacted America's Best and did not get far. The hotel itself responded with a free night stay, but did not address hotel problems in any way. I wold never stay here again.
