Hotel Guest Reviews of the West Park Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Hotel is located a block away from the start of the Rock and Roll San Diego marathon.
The rooms are all smokey. Smoking areas are located throughout the complex. For some strange reason housekeeping leaves all the windows open, which allow the smoke to get into the rooms.

My advice is to avoid this hotel. Spend a few dollars more and find a real hotel. This place is more like an apartment complex with no kitchens. Rooms are small, barely enough for 2 people.

It was really close to down town and only 10 minutes away from MCRD. Conveniently located
The rooms were a lot smaller than expected.

The room was brutal, noise levels were ridiculous, a terrible stay.

Convenient location.
Waking up in the middle of the night with noise from other clients.

During the night we woke up with one group of clients making lots of noise, they even turn on the fire alarm and nobody from the hotel did something. The next day when we checked out they said that we should had called the front desk, but it's expensive when we consider the overall quality of the room and the hotel.

Simple, clean, free continental breakfast, just far enough from Downtown to avoid overpaying for a modest room.
Views from the room window were lacking.

Excellent choice for someone who is not looking to pay for a ritzy hotel, but still wants something clean and comfortable.

Very nice court yard. Great location, walking distance from Balboa park and close to the harbor and the airport.
Room was a bit cramped, but for a single traveler, it was fine.

The decor was great!
It was difficult to fit my rented bicycle in the room, and I didn't feel safe leaving it outside.

The America's Best Value in on 4th Avenue is surprisingly chic. The staff are very friendly.

Absolutely nothing.
Everything.

No parking, bad location, services are not good, airplane flight by all night long.

They provide free in-room Wi-Fi.
Location is spotty, if you plan to walk to the Gaslamp District.

The room has a bed, a desk and not much else. Luckily, I did not spend much time in the room, otherwise, I would have considered checking out to find another hotel. I was on a non-smoking floor, but there were at least 5 people, I encountered that were smoking in the hallway. Some of the guests looked a little shady, so I always double and triple checked my door. Pack some earplugs if you stay here, because it is directly in the airport's landing path. Planes are only a few dozen feet overhead all night. The breakfast is what you would expect from a budget hotel/motel. One of the lone bright spots of my stay was the front desk staff. They were always friendly and accommodating to questions. ...read more
