Hotel Guest Reviews of the Ames, A Morgans Original

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location, Shower, Doorman very helpful with car and hailing cab.
No continental...or other breakfast. Rooms not very large.

Good business hotel in heart of financial district.

The location was great. We took the subway and the hotel is right across from a station, which you exit from the State House (pretty cool). The rooms were very nice and clean. There was adequate space in the bathroom and bedroom.
Could feel the subway from hotel, but was not a major issue. Not too noisy from street... At times would hear sirens. These are all things I would expect being in downtown or any big city. Overall we had slept quite well. Comfortable bed and pillows.

This hotel is probably geared towards couples (or at least the room we had stayed in). The glass shower is open to the sleeping area. There is a sheer curtain. If you are traveling with family this hotel might not quite work.

We had a huge deep tub in our room that was great fun for my boys. The staff was friendly, helpful and thoughtful.
I felt like there was a charge for every little thing. At the nightly rate that they charge, some amenities should just be included.

If you're in Boston to see the historical sights, this is a great location to stay. We were about a 5-7 minute walk from just about everything and the T line was across the street for everything else.

The view and the room on the top.
You have to pay for free WIFI (10 dollar/day). You have to pay if you want on a computer and print something and that was 4.95 dollar for each quarter and 0.26 dollar for each printed page. If you will have a 4-star hotel, you will expect that is for free

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but well decorated.
They didn't have a restaurant or bar.

The hotel was nice, great location in downtown Boston with easy access to the waterfront, north end, and Boston Common. There's not a sign for the hotel outside so it's easy to miss. Ames is written in the stone above the door for the hotel, but it doesn't stand out like most hotels.

Location was wonderful.
I was extremely disappointed that there was not coffee pot in the room.

I thought the room and location was fantastic! I was very disappointed that there was not coffee pot in the room. For being such a nice hotel, coffee should be included.

Great location, nice decor, fairly quiet, noon checkout time.
I probably would have picked another hotel if I had known in advance that food services (including continental breakfast, room service, bar) were going to be shut down.
