Hotel Guest Reviews of the An Island Oasis
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 10, 2013

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was not really a hotel in the portion we stayed in but a converted home and garage. We were there for New Years and the prices were very high but the quality of the accommodations were extremely low.The location was good, near the stone marking the furthers point south and next to the main tourist street with shopping, restaurants and bars. ...

Large, clean room in safe area. Actually I thought the whole island felt safe. My wife and I enjoyed reading the paper on the front porch with the complimentary breakfast and watching the world go by. Close to Duval Street. We had no problems walking the entire length of Duval and a moped rental place was just a block away as was a shuttle stop. Check in information (check in is across the street) is by the side door of the Island Oasis, not by the front door which took us a little bit to find, but not a big deal. Had a wonderful time. ...

Definitely thought it was nicer. We followed the sign for office when arriving, but was told by a housekeeper, who barely spoke English, that we had to go across the street to check-in. Already a deal breaker. And breakfast wasn't even at our inn, we had to go across the street to Ocean Breeze Inn, which is not a far walk, but still not was expected. We were told Island Oasis Inn has changed many owners/management, and has not been able to stay open. Apparently Ocean Breeze Inn owns it now, (hence the breakfast and check in being there). The AC unit in our room(Ibis) was pretty loud, woke us up a few times at night. But we liked the quiet neighborhood it's in. ...

As noted above, not lavish, but it was a great place to stay to experience what life is like for many of the "locals."

hotel staff.
I wasn't looking for much. I just needed a place to stay with my girlfriend for the night. However, this place met much more than my expectations. The room quality was very good, everything was very clean and well laid out. It's not as luxurious as other places around but of course it's not half as expensive. The location is excellent. I would recommend staying here and spending your money on snorkeling and margaritas. ...

Parking was tough, like you had to be there early to get a spot. No staff or anyone there to talk to or get info from. Quite and nice house turned into hotel.
