Hotel Guest Reviews of the Avon Old Farms Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The price...
It was old and out dated. Felt like I as in a cave.

Was not at all impressed with the room. If it wasn't the fact that I had a reservation and they had my credit card number. Ivwoyld have gone elsewhere. Super 8 's room is nicer.

The staff was helpful, good price
The room was a bit shabby in spots, the A/C didn't seem to work properly, and it was hard to find working plugs to charge my phone and laptop.

it had a bar
NOT a 3.5 star hotel. 1) TV's old; 2) poster beds block TV viewing; 3) towels are old/scratchy... Bed with 'feather topper'... isn't as comfortable as Courtyard Suites (a 3 star).

I thought the staff was wonderful.
We didn't care for the continental breakfast.

The beds were incredibly comfortable...we had a very pleasant dining experience in the pub. The continental breakfast consisted of dry, cold pastries, but the coffee was very good.

I feel That I was not given a room that was equivalent to the one I was expected to. when I asked g how much the room was originally, she told me but then changed her answer once she discovered that I used Priceline. although the room was clean

This is my first priceline dud! It was listed as Hartford, it was Avon. 3.5 star hotels include Hyatt, Marriott, etc, this was a no name brand. If it weren't for the fact that I rolled in at 1am I would have skipped checking in and gone elsewhere!

People were exceptionally nice. The main building is nice with a historic theme. The rooms are in detached buildings with doors outside facing the parking lot. The room decor is something you remember from your great grandparents house from the 70's. Bed was lumpy. Quite honestly it looked like a hotel room from a horror flick. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone sorry! I think I'll skip the priceline "quick deals" from now on. First time I've been burned by this. ...read more

The Bar & Grill inside Seasons Restaurant on-site. Waitress was excellent. French Dip was average not sliced thinly at all.
Heat was turned to 60 in rooms in Annex (Priceline rooms). Had to jack it up well into the 70's to get the room to 66 by the following morning. Old hotel and it smells like it. Staff was a little stuffy and acted as if I knew where the Annex even was.

Definitely would not stay here again. Sorry

Lobby was gorgeous
The hotel was room was in a section known as the motel, where all priceline customers are placed. Rooms have not been rehabbed since the 80s with plastic punch-card locks and no secondary method of door lock. Old CRT TVs, mildewy shower, dirty carpet.

This is not a luxury hotel in any sense. It is a 2-star motel with 3+ star prices. Avoid avoid avoid!

It was close to everything for our needs! Rooms were big and comfy!
I had a moment of fright when we pulled up. The outside 1 story motel needs some updating to match the inside rooms. The rooms could use an upgrade in terms of being technology friendly. Not enough plugs for laptop, cell phone chargers, etc.

Good price for a decent room in a very nice town! Everything you need in terms of restaurants and shopping is close! We met up with friends for pizza and drinks at Da Capo' s one night. It was just what we needed!
