Welcome to the Banff Caribou Lodge And Spa
Impressed with the recent room renovations including dreamy beds, Priceline guests are also sold on the location of Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa on Banff's main, pedestrian-friendly strip.
This three-floor hotel with a European chalet-style facade is home to 184 cozy rooms, renovated in 2011. Room highlights include spa-like bathrooms with rich, earthy elements and arty accents echoing the hotel's caribou country origins. Welcome amenities include in-room Wi-Fi, mini-fridges and flat-panel LCD TVs. Amenities-wise, there's plenty for everyone. Well-deserving grown-ups can rejuvenate at the full-service spa, unwind in the 26-person hot tub and steam room or blow off steam at the exercise room. Kids can run wild at the on-site playground. How convenient there's a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, too. Parking is free, as are the passes to Banff transit.
Banff Caribou Lodge is just about a one-mile trek into quaint downtown Banff, booming with a rich restaurant, boutique, museum and gallery scene. Guests looking for stunning views without the legwork can hop the Banff Gondola, about two miles away. Those with the legs for serious downhill skiing are within a 15-minute ride to Mount Norquay. Calgary International Airport is about 90 miles.
According to Priceline guests, "nice amenities" such as an on-site restaurant hit the spot, while a "friendly and happy" staff take the experience at Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa to a higher level.

Top notch, restaurant, the Keg, I found to be a little on the pricey side even for Banff. Great parking and storage for my skis.

We stayed in several hotels on a week long spin through Calgary and Banff. This one was by far the best and (surprisingly) least expensive. The hotel and rooms appear to have a recent renovation. They are fantastic – modern, but with a rustic lodge twist. All are very clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant (The Keg) was good and prices on par for Banff although I thought their breakfast was a little pricey (like $40 for two for bacon and eggs), since the hotel is a few blocks from Downtown, I would suggest either picking up some breakfast items the night before or walking Downtown for breakfast. Lastly, I was impressed by hotel staff - mostly young people from outside Canada. Every one would smile and say hello and seemed genuinely friendly.

Clean, comfortable room but smaller than what appeared in picture. No air conditioning in the room, expected this of three star hotel.

I called the hotel to ask prior to arrival.
Will most likely stay here again. The price was reasonable, in close proximity to downtown.
