Hotel Guest Reviews of the Baymont Inn And Suites Dekalb
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.November 5, 2012

The main train line runs right along the back of the hotel and kept me and my family up all night. It took complaints to get a new room upon check in after the room I was originally given was absolutely horrible! The curtains were pulled off the rod, the room smelled horribly of smoke and mold.

Close to down town, to NIU campus and
easy to arrive from the highway.

I
would never refer this hotel to anyone & would suggest it be removed from your list as well.

The experience was OK, but my expectations were fairly low given the star rating--the hair dryer was half-hanging off the wall, the table top near the beds was dirty when we checked in. The room air conditioning was great. The tub did nto drain well. The service areas of the hotel had open doors and the area looked very disorganized and dirty. The pool area seemed fairly hideous. ...

Very nice hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was clean but only 2 tables and about 8 chairs. A couple of families and you'll have no place to sit or put your stuff down. No outdoor patio for the pool. The room was really nice and clean. Some of the furniture was in an ackward place. A chair next to desser that blocked the bathroom. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. Continental breakfast was good. I would think that rooms towards the track might have a problem with trains going by. We slept good and didn't hear the trains in the room we got. Lousy view (parking lot for the bar next door). Off the main road (Lincoln Hwy) to it was easy to spot and close to our event at NIU. ...

There are trains passing by a few times an hour, make it impossible to sleep well even with ear plug.

If you want a step up from a brothel or a flash back to the 70's and want to over pay for it this is the place to go. This Hotel NEEDS a update and to spend some cash to make it worth what I paid. Picked it cause it had a pool and work out room to find out the work our room has 4 things in it and does not work! The pool is from a scary movie. I would for sure NOT go back. The staff was nice but the hotel is run down. ...
