Hotel Guest Reviews of the Beacon Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location is OK.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights during the end of March weekend. It was early spring but the weather was in 70s and the room was warm when we arrived. We turned on the AC right away but it heated the room above 80s instead of making it cooler.

We were told this hotel can only do heating or cooling in the whole building.During spring time,AC just doesn't work on cooling. The whole building is like this.We had to open the window even though we stayed on the first floor and didn't feel safe enough doing it.Nobody seemed cared and nobody apologized to us.We will not stay in this hotel again.

Location
Room was NOISY! Hotel duct work funnels resturant and bar noise to rooms in first 3 floors. 35$ a night plus $7 "parking tax" is out of line compared to other hotels. 4 Star Willard Intercontinental, for example, only charges $22/night.

I had nothing against the hotel as we didn't stay there. What we had problems with was priceline's policy and lack of customer service and finding a resolution.
Did not stay at the hotel. Priceline took my money and didn't work on finding a compromise. Will never use priceline again.

Nice decorations.
$35 to park your vehicle, NO Parking available. Ice machines on odd floors and vending machine on lower floor.

The location was superb, three blocks north of the White House and right in the middle of seemingly endless night time opprituriities

Helpful staff when checking in. Looked nice -- from a distance.
Under the shiny veneer, the beds were very uncomfortable, the sheets were very poor quality an worn, it wasn't as clean as one would expect from a place charging as much as xxxnight. They have extra fees for EVERYTHING.

Location, Nice Room
The stairwell alarm was going off for an hour in the middle of the night before we called the front desk to turn it off.

Was a really nice hotel. I would visit again.

The room was great and the staff was off the charts great. The location was surprisingly good.

Location for me is essential to anywhere I stay, especially for public transportation. The DC metro was close by and an ok walk. Proximity to Conn. Ave. and Dupont Circle should be highlighted because they offer both great restaurants and retail.
