The room was nothing special but it was clean and comfortable. The Berkshire Inn is a family run establishment and has a very friendly and helpful staff.

We arrived just past midnight in the rain - later than expected. I did not call ahead to say we would be so late. I called the number on the door and a friendly motel person arrived in a minute to check me in. Very nice, no grumbling!
The plastic mattress cover.
Priced above an Econolodge but not any better. Still, it is locally owned - not a franchise - and that makes a difference to me.

Furnishings were worn, office closed at 11 which is too early for patrons attending local arts events at night.
The Berkshire Inn is clean but furnishings are quite worn and the room we had, on the lower level, was damp despite the presence of a dehumidifyer. Hotels in the Berkshires should expect that their patrons are there to attend one of the many music, art or dance festivals in the area and keep their office open late enough to serve their needs. They are exceedingly overpriced even considering the desirable area. ...
