Hotel Guest Reviews of the Best Western Avalon Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.February 24, 2013

My room had towels left from the previous guest and the hotel had some cosmetic dings (bent elevator doors, television credenza where the doors would not stay open). The breakfast selection was very generic and average.

The hotel wasn't above and beyond my expectations, but it was adequate enough to act as a pit stop for our New Orleans getaway. My only pet peeve was about the continental breakfast, the staff didn't do very good at keeping the food replenished, and I saw them helping themselves and eating right at the bar on more than one occasion.

Too many mistakes and errors happened: at first they didn't find my name on the list. After a looong wait it turned out they had filed me under my first name, the next day our keys didn't work anymore. The third night we had to move to a new room as our previous room hadn't been cleaned, the following morning a flooded bathroom floor due to a clogged toilet made my wife finally go nuts. When we checked out we were told that all that had only happened as they had erroneously listed my prebooking for the year 2013 (and not 2012), By far the worst experience of our trip through the American south.Front desk staff were (very) helpful, indeed. ...

It was in a nice location, but the rooms definitely need updated. Plus, the bathrooms were TINY! The staff was friendly and helpful.

I would avoid this hotel. They have mold problems.
