Hotel Guest Reviews of the Super 8 - St. Joseph, Mo

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

In the past the service has been good, but BEWARE they try to slip by smoking rooms on the buy it now selections.

It is next to a very busy truck stop on hill behind it and there is constant noise from the trucks air-braking every 5 to 15 seconds down the steep hill to traffic light next to the hotel. The room was filthy, the staff was unfriendly, the exterior cement/rebar stairs are rusting and dangerous, the furniture is old and wobbly, the door lock was broken off, the window screen missing, there were burn marks on sinks, bathtub, and window curtains, one curtain was missing, and the room simply stank. The breakfast staff was putting out very sparse pickings and waffle mix was empty. There is no signage on the hotel, just signs at gas station next door and on tall post at truck stop behind it. I wish I had left my $67 and slept at the next public rest area or in a park, it would have been cleaner, quieter, and smelled a whole lot better. This is by far the most disappointing and disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at and I'm not that particular. I'm embarrassed to admit I even stayed there but I was exhausted from long day and traveling by motorcycle. ...read more

The
beds were great! Very important for our old bodies.
Steps leading up to our room need to be replaced or remodeled or updated.

This was a nicer place than the original Super 8 on Frederick St in St Joe. And, easier to get to Casino. It is easy to get to off the Interstate, but on a very busy corner. Reasonable rates, helpful staff, great beds, clean rooms and good breakfast. We would stay here again.

Convenient location - right off the highway.
The room was odorous, holes in towels, carpet had holes, dresser broken, ink stains on the table, one of beds uncomfortable, TV remote broken.

I will never stay here again. The desk clerk was nice however, the room was odorous, the carpet had holes in it, the towels were rough, had holes, and were clearly ragged. The table had chips and ink stains on it, the dresser drawers set broken, and the TV remote didn't work.

Easy to find.
Dirty, door to room was open when we got there, things were broken, fire alarm fell on me.

The hotel was dirty. You get to the rooms from the outside, and ours was open when we got there. The towels were not very clean. During the night the fire alarm fell off the ceiling onto me; I was going to complain to the front desk both the other room our party was in didn't even have a fire alarm. And the location was so close to the interstate that it was hard to sleep with traffic noise. Will never stay there again. ...read more

There was nothing that I liked about this hotel.
Rude staff problems with room not resolved in a courteous mannor stairway unsafe.

The only way if I stayed at this hotel again is if there was no other rooms in other hotels available. The Desk clerk tried to charge me twice for my room even though I paid for it through Priceline. I showed her my receipt but that did not convince her only when I convinced her to make a copy and show it to the manager did she finally agree. On the stairways the concrete was crumbling and broken I was afraid that I was going to trip and fall. ...read more

Convenient location to my church.
Leaky faucets, cold air under door, noisy, not clean, lights didn't work, and odorous.

It was clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff was great as well!
It was right next to the highway so it was really noisy.

If you want peace and quiet, this is not the place for you as it is right off the highway and on a very busy street. At night the noise tapers off, so it's not too terribly bad. The hotel looks much better on the inside than it does out. The beds/pillows were comfortable. The water pressure was great, the room was very clean. The sheets were not fitted to the bed. Other than that, we were very pleased with our stay.
