Best Western Gold Country Inn

Good location for a quick stay in the area. Lots of dining options within walking distance and a Safeway/CVS across the street.

Several of the people who stayed at this hotel were discussing their experience during our conference. Many had horrible experiences with moldy smelling rooms, water coming through the ceiling,overall noise. Mine was okay.Since they would not honor the group discount that our coordinator negotiated when she picked this facility for accommodations, I was not pleased about that.On the good side, the room was clean. Just overall not a good experience. The location was nice and there was a hot tub and swimming pool; people seemed to be enjoying them and they appeared clean.Will not stay there again.

We had built a house in the area but sold it so we are familiar with Grass Valley/Nevada City. Both towns are historical, great for tourists. Beautiful area, each season has it's own colorful beauty. Springtime the dogwoods bloom, in the fall the foliage colors are fabulous. Christmastime the Corny Christmas in GV and the Victorian Christmas in Nevada City are fun. Always lots going on at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, we love the Father's Day Bluegrass Festival. Obviously we love Nevada County! Was good this was my second stay with this hotel. I will stay again when I am travaling in that direction.

They need to replace the management and desk clerks with someone with a personality and has tolerance to work with the customers.

This is a great little motel! The staff is friendly and efficient without being intrusive. The pool is great fun in the afternoon and evening. Plenty of parking, and very comfortable rooms.

I have stayed there many times before and it met expectations.
