Best Western Hotel Mondial

the only nice thing about this hotel is the location and the public spaces...I had some of the worst service in this 4 star hotel compared to 2 or 3 stars hotels that I used during my trip. The 1st guy I talked at the frontdesk was not helpful... I asked him if the Sistine chapel was still closed ( the pope had just been chosen) he said he did not know... to come back tomorrow and proceeded to offer me to buy a 10 euro/day internet so I could check it for myself (really?)( I was able to find the information after 1 minutes after login to the free wifi at the restaurant I used that night) The waiter at the breakfast did not greet me (at none of the 3 days I was there) he just asked my room number and proceed to rudely order me to a table... I refused and chose the one I wanted since there were at least 10 free. He never responded to my goodbyes... Really cheap on the bathroom products... only 1 soap and 1 shampoo for a 2 person reservation... I mean, I should not have to take the shower soap to wash my face at the sink.... it just felt so cheap all in all... the worst hotel experience in more than 3 years... and I do travel more than a little. ...read more

Very pleased with hotel. Location near train, metro, & sights of Rome. Room was clean and complimentary breakfast was good. Would use again.

This hotel was great. Ideal location. Room was clean and elegant, with lovely balcony. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent. Internet was a bit expensive.

Great location. Close to main train station and we walked to all major tourist sites. Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor. They say it is an American breakfast because it has eggs and bacon, but no one would eat these eggs!

The hotel was great. Excellent location around the corner from Piazza De Republicca. Room was clean with size typical of European hotels. The staff was fantastic, unfortunately during my stay in Rome I was pick pocketed on the metro and the staff of the hotel was very helpful in helping me resolve the problems from this, even going so far as to get me a cab to the store where the scumbag used my card. Unfortunately, due to other circumstances from this event unrelated to the hotel, I never did get the guy or my wallet, but I was very appreciative of the hotel staff who were very courteous and helpful. ...read more
