Hotel Guest Reviews of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.June 14, 2013

The hotel is steeped in history and some of it's grandeur and antiquity remains throughout the lobby area, hallways on each floor (wide open) and elevators. The room I stayed in was tiny and barely adequate for one person. The bathroom was so small you could soak your feet in the tub, wash your face in the sink and take a crap simultaneously. Again, this is related to the age of the hotel and the Park Plaza craftily informs you of this, appealing to your sense of history through the possibility that Winston Churchill might too have contorted his frame in several directions like you just did in order to relieve himself. I'm not a complainer and just got on with it but the bathroom could have been cleaner too. My room faced directly on to about 300 others although a semblance of privacy was maintained through double-blinds. When drawn it was even more claustrophonic so I just made sure I had a loin cloth avaialble at all times. The bed was very comfortable but the comforter sported some suspicious stains (possibly Churchill's spittle no doubt). The only spot for the TV was to the side of the bed so if you are, unlike me, interested in viewing a 'House Hunters' marathon make sure you've already booked your chiropractor appointment for the next day. It wasn't an issue during my stay but on a few occasions it was abundantly clear that the walls are paper thin. Assuming the average PeeWee hockey team couldn't afford this place it's likely not a problem worth worrying about, notwithstanding the spacious hallways would make for a great game of mini sticks. The location right on Boston Common and next to the Arlington subway station is great - no complaints there. Also, there are a couple of pretty good restaurants on site that were much better than your average hotel-based eatery. The food was decent and you weren't hosed on the cheque. I wouldn't stay here again but overall my experience was OK. ...

Old hotel that supplies rooms through Priceline that mislead people into thinking they are getting a room that is actually for two people. Small bed, small room My opinion is that Priceline tricks people into booking this hotel

We booked a four night stay with Priceline and were not able to select a room type. Upon arrival, we found out we had a double bed. I explained that we needed two beds or accommodation with separate sleeping areas. The registration staff member said that she would put us in a room that could accommodate a rollaway bed. Hours later when the room was available, it was clear that it would not accommodate a rollaway bed. When I spoke to the hotel attendant, they said there was nothing they could do. One person had to sleep on the floor each night. The room was also located near the elevator and we could hear guest coming and going all night long. It was the most unpleasant hotel experience I have ever had. ...

I was trying to be cheap by using priceline to book a hotel. I would never have stayed at this hotel if priceline did not choose it for me. I then paid alot of extra on top of the priceline bid price to get a nicer room with a king, since the priceline price gave me their smallest and cheapest room. I called to hotel at least twice to make sure that my reseravation was for a king bed after having paid the hotel directly for the upgrade. When i checked in, a room with a king bed was not available. In order for me to get the king bed that i paid for, i had to hang around the hotel the next day at around noon when their other customers check out just to see if there would be a king bed avaialable then. The room that they did give was supposed to be on the luxury floor of the hotel... it had no heat on a nigh when the weather was 50 degrees. When i reported that, they sent a maintenance guy up to my room only to tell me that there is no temperature control in the rooms; the thermostat is just for show. The view on this luxury floor that i paid extra money to get was terrible and the AC that was not controllable from the room thermostat makes so much noise that you won't be able to sleep at night anyway. I will never again use priceline if this is the type of hotel that it chooses for xxx/night. Never ever stay at this hotel. ...

Very busy hotel. Staff seemed frantic all the time. Hotel is nice, rooms were small, location is great for touring Boston.
