the pictures on the internet make the place look ok ---the place is in very bad shpe----

We got what we expected from it's 2 star rating as far as accommodations go. Older facility and dated furnishings, however, nicest staff you could ask for. They gave me extra room keys, so I could check which one I'd prefer. We had 2 rooms booked, one for co-workers and on for me and my husband. We took a 3 day class in nearby Cherry Valley while hubby took in the beauty of the surrounding area. They told us where to eat and assured us the area was safe. ...read more

The hotel cancelled our reservation before we arrived due to a sewer leak. Even though the proprietor had my cell phone number, he did not call to let me know and my husband and I showed up with a car full of drinks and food on a super hot day to learn we had no where to stay and no where to store it out of the heat. I have to say, it probably was a blessing in disguise, because it looked pretty gross from the outside. Additionally we were travelling from the Albany area, this was about 2/3 of the way to Cooperstown, which was our final destination, it was the ONLY hotel available and the proprieter offered us a room at a sister hotel 15 minutes back from where we came...so it made no sense to take his substitution.
