Hotel Guest Reviews of the Capitol Hill Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location Location.
Arrived early morning because of a late flight. Had to wait outside for over 30 mins before I got a hold of someone to check me in.

Overall a good 2 star hotel because of service and old equipment and bedding. But should be a 5 star hotel because of location.

Small, personal, human experience. Not a huge impersonal convention hotel. Staff were OUTSTANDING - genuinely friendly and ready to help. Very nice European style breakfast included. I will be back! A great find.
Only one thing I'd adjust - the heating/cooling units are old, blow in one direction, and can't be adjusted. Simple fix is to add plastic directional pieces that force air to shoot up and into the room, as opposed to directly on you.

Small hotel with a personal feel and experience. Outstanding, genuinely friendly staff at the ready to help with anything. Lovely European style breakfast included. If you like a more human scale and the European approach, this hotel is a gem. My first time there and I'll definitely be back!

Huge room with a full kitchen and walk-in closet. AWESOME LOCATION!
Breakfast was ok. I really would've loved some hot foods.

GREAT PLACE! Huge rooms, full kitchen, friendly staff, clean, and an awesome location. I can't say it was perfect. You can tell it is an older building, but they have gone to great lengths to make sure it feels new and fresh. Breakfast included an assortment of pastries, hard-boiled eggs, and fruit. Nothing hot, but certainly delicious.

Perfect location, extremely helpful and friendly staff.
A few small cleaning issues, nothing major.

Extremely convenient to Capitol Hill, the Library of Congress, buslines, etc. Lots of great, but small, restaurants within 1-4 blocks. Free wifi was a great feature and one that you don't always find in an upscale hotel. Very comfortable room with a small kitchenette. Ideal for one person, two if you're very very close....

My room (107) seemed to be located over some utility/HVAC room. There was an extremely loud humming sound in my bedroom the whole time of my stay. I am not the complaining type, but in retrospect should have requested a new room. It was unacceptable.

Room 107 should be avoided at all costs.

Very helpful staff, business center, fitness room, laundry room, small kitchen in room, very nice public areas.

Close to Library of Congress and Capital Hill. Good price. All the amenities you'd need.

Hotel had great rooms, fantastic location and incredible staff.....we have been here 3 times and will likely return when we visit DC.
Bathroom is cramped, we are learning how to navigate the flow of the bathroom facilities.

Despite the small size of the bathroom, we always return to the Capitol Hill Hotel when we visit DC since the pros far outweigh the cons! Among the pros: comfortable beds, rooms are adequate and clean, refrigerator in room, good breakfast, complimentary coffee and tea through out the day, great location to many attractions, incredibly friendly and helpful staff:Con - small bathroom. ...read more

This hotel had a fantastic location -- about 1.5 blocks from the Capitol South metro station, and a 5 minute walk to the Capitol building and National Mall. They also upgraded us upon arrival to the Junior Suite, which has a living room with a pull out s
No, I was completely pleased with this hotel. If anything, I wish I stayed longer.

This hotel had a great location right by the National Mall and blue/orange line metro station Capitol South. They had a nice, small gym and a good variety of self-serve breakfast available. The room we stayed in was quite spacious and homey feeling. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Nothing!!!
The uncleanliness of the hotel, the rude staff!!!

The first room that was assigned to us was dirty. When I called the front desk to inform them that the room was dirty, I was rudely told that housekeeping leaves at 4:30 p.m., and no one would be available to fix the room. The hotel eventually moved us into another room, which was just as dirty as the first one. The staff is extremely rude, they do not care about their guest and I do not recommend staying at this hotel. You are better off staying at a Motel 6, The Red Roof Inn, or a side of the road Motel!!!! ...read more
