Hotel Guest Reviews of the Carnegie Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

When we arrived, they asked where we were from, and when we shared that we were local, but there to celebrate our anniversary, they upgraded our room and gave us a discount for the restaurant, The Wellington. It was a very sincere and kind gesture!

I would review this hotel as a really great 3-star hotel. There are some aspects of the hotel that feel a bit worn or well used, and unfortunately it's not due to the vintage look and feel. But that being said, it was a really great experience and the highest reviews are due to the staff who were so very helpful, courteous, respectful, and invested in the guests. They did a remarkable job! ...read more

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room, very comfortable bed, and wifi. Also liked the location across from ETSU. I came to see the college and I didn't know before hand how close it was.
We arrived at 9:50 pm and would've liked to have dinner. We didn't know there was no food after 10 pm. It didn't impact our satisfaction of your hotel, but we were hungry. Also would've been nice if I didn't have to go to the basement to get ice.

Luxurious atmosphere, spacious bathroom with separate tub and large shower. My husband and I were there for a weekend getaway without the kids and we were pampered and treated like kings and queens. Great location across the street from ETSU.

Wow, picking a favorite anything is difficult because it was so wonderful! The room was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was amazing!
There wasn't anything unpleasant about the hotel, but if I had to pick something it would be the "private" party taking place in the hotel our night there. The party spilled over into common areas making it uncomfortable to explore the beautiful hotel!

Book at the Carnegie Hotel!!! It was nothing more than fabulous!

First class hotel but you do pay for it, a little more than we may always wish to pay.

At checkout, elevator was out of service. I carried our luggage down 5 flights of stairs. The stairwell smelled of cigarettes and there were butts on the floor.

I liked the fact that it was a very nice hotel, with everything you need or want just like the fancy hotels I see on TV.
NA.

I found the hotel to be an a-one place to relax at the end of a long trip. Would recommend hotel to everyone.

Best hotel in Johnson City.
The restaurant did not have pancakes.

The hotel was surprisingly nice for a city this small. It was comparable to the Peabody in Memphis. Not quite as good but comparable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the tri-cities area.

atmosphere, location
bathroom

The bathroom, while large and nicely equipped with double vanities, had a very low-end, added-on shower stall more suited to a small cruise ship room than a 4 star hotel. It was small and had nowhere to store shampoo or other toiletries inside the shower. Definitely needs upgrading to measure up to advertised deluxe hotel rating.
