Hotel Guest Reviews of the Casa De Palmas Renaissance Mcallen Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Yes, the best part was that we had an exceptional view from our room. The pool sure looked inviting except we couldn't take advantage of the facility since we were there for a wedding.
Yes, we wish we would have been advised about a possible problem. We stepped out to the balcony and unbeknownst to us, we set off the fire alarm due to leaving the door ajar. The staff visited to check all was fine and the firemen also paid a visit.

Based on previous incident and response, it would be wise for guests to be informed of that potential possibility so as not to be alarmed as we were. It was quite embarrassing as you may imagine. All else was quite very good. A minor consideration to keep in mind would be to have cleaning staff re-stock the coffee island with extra creamers or powdered creamer packages. For those of us coffee drinkers, we can never have enough. Also, consider letting your guests know up front that connections are available behind the tv for those few that forget to carry their connectors to recharge batteries to items such as the iPhone, iPad etc.. Overall rating is near excellent. ...read more

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
The restroom space in the room was really small and not all the elevators were working making it difficult to access the parking garage.

The hotel and staff were great.

Great rooms with enough space, clean, never heard noises from other rooms, not even from the common areas and we were in the 1st floor we had a view to the pool which is very nice, complimentary parking, Well located and helpful and friendly staff.
It would be great just to have a microwave and a fridge, that's all we missed. I read comments regarding the place is old, and well it is antique but very well maintaned, elevators are working fine, everthing looks very nice, it is a nice place to stay.

Old carpet, with some musty smell, really tiney, not just small, bathrooms. However, the overall experience was good, and if we have to stay in Mcallen again, we will stay again.

The hotel has recently been cleaned up, making it a much better place to stay than before. The pool and common areas are great with just adequate rooms.
This hotel is old, as in historical old, so don't expect modern architecture and space. It has been kept up properly.

Beautiful room and public spaces. Free covered parking. Very nice bathroom products. Loved the extra sink.
Would have been nice to have a fridge, looked like there was a cupboard for it, but it was removed. Didn't know about the $20 charge for two beds, but they waived it, so I was happy.
