Hotel Guest Reviews of the Cedar Lodge

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

1, Location is great. Only 10 minutes' drive to the gate of Yosemite National Park. 2, Hotel utility exceeded my expectation. Although inside the mountains, still there is a restaurant serving a variety of food with reasonable price.
Cancellation policy is too strict. Make sure to call them a week ahead if you need to cancel or modify your reservation.

I booked the hotel on Priceline.com and 5 days before the trip, I need to cancel one room. Although they charged me one night's penalty, when I arrived, I was upgraded to a suite with one queen one king bed and a kitchen. The utility of this hotel is great. It has a restaurant serving a variety of food with reasonable price. And there is a pool inside the hotel. Also the location is great. It is only 10 minutes' drive from the hotel to the Main Gate of YNP. If you are taking parents and little baby, you will know a nearby hotel is such a relieve from an exhausting traveling day. One bad thing, Wifi needs purchase and there is no cellphone signal in the hotel as well as the park, not mention 3G signal. ...read more

Not value 4 money. Wifi not included! Breakfast in the diner is extra and the poorest breakfast by far in this 2 week trip to CA. If staying outside Yosemite park facilities in Mariposa better value for money.

Nothing I liked... Bad experience
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! They have no cell phone service do no calls can be made and its a major hassle so log in to Internet... So you are pretty much out of touch of the outside world.. Rude staff too.

Don't recommend this hotel to anyone

It is an almost affordable hotel, located close enough to Yosemite that you the drive in is not a wasted day of winding roads!
Bathrooms do not have any exhaust fan, TV channel line up is really bad, and about a third of the channels are in other languages. Late at night, phone rings, a guy tried to get me to give personal credit card information! He was a phishing con artist.

The Yosemite View lodge a few miles up the road and this Cedar Lodge, both have the same owner. But this one is $100 cheaper. The restaurants in both have same owner. Morning buffet is basic at Cedar Lodge, but as the only show in town, it was busy. You want to get out from hotel and up to Valley anyhow. Indoor heated Pool was good for kids in any weather. Quiet at night as so many are tired from hiking! Maids are well fed. The weird thing was a call came in at like 10 at night from a stranger pretending to be the assistant manager. In a bad Texas acsent he states they upgraded hotels computer system, and to get the 35% discount, he will need to re-input my information in the system. He already knows the room # because he went through hotel operator. He then starts to ask questions. I hung up, and called desk. ...read more

The view from our room of mountains and river was lovely. Not noisy from road. Couldn't hear noise from adjoining rooms. Nothing fancy, but nice motel. Would stay here again. Staff was friendly, but didn't seem to have much knowledge about Yosemite.
Rooms were too warm. Air conditioning didn't work well. It was cool outside, but inside it was stuffy. Staff replaced air conditioner, but that didn't help much.

This is a great location if you are on a budget and want to see Yosemite. It's close enough to the Yosemite Valley to get there in a half an hour. The hotel is very secluded. There is only one restaurant/bar at the location and the food wasn't that great. Nice looking breakfast buffet that wasn't included in the price. There is another hotel (closer to the entrance to Yosemite that had great pizza.) No coffee maker in the room... but free coffee in the lobby. No microwave in the room but one in the lobby. Bring food and snacks from home. No wifi in the room. Must go to lobby for wifi access, bring your own wifi device and must pay for access to wifi. No computer available to use. No cell phone access from this hotel. ...read more

The location is very closed to Yosemite.
The room needs to be improved and so does the hotel's entire service.

The location is the best, but the entire hotel needs to be improved.

location was great for the price. pools and common areas were a nice touch

the breakfast was substantial and a good value, the dinner less so as the food was limited to pub fare

The location was great! Only a few miles from Yosemite entrance.

When I booked the hotel, my main concern was distance to Yosemite and price. The hotel is great for both. The star rating was accurate as the room has the old time bedspread, thin towels, flat pillows, firm mattresses and stained carpet. They do have an indoor pool that we saw several guests utilize. The restaurant offered a few grilled or deep fried selections. There is a salad bar however it did not look very appealing. They have a gift shop in the lobby area and a coffee station for free cup of coffee. We borrowed a free board game from the front desk, which was a nice touch and we had fun playing it in our room. We did not have any cell phone service (T-Mobile and AT&T) while there and could of purchase WIFI from outside carrier for access to the internet. Overall, the hotel met our needs. ...read more
