Hotel Guest Reviews of the Charlotte Marriott Southpark
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 29, 2013

Loved the hotel! We leave Columbus, Ohio and always stay in Charlotte for a night enroute to Hilton Head. Priceline always gets us a nice place for our one night stand at a fair price.

Nice lobby. Good outside parking. Close to excellent shopping. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:30 am, in fact she knocked on every door at 8:30 am. Check out is at noon! NO coffee machine in the room. House cleaning did not empty the garbage and had to be reminded to clean up a dirty glass.

Great location - easy walking distance to the fabulous Southpark Mall, add'l shopping and great restaurants (I'm not a fan of Mall restaurants). GREAT staff! Hotel & grounds were impeccably clean. They do pump in fragrance, which was nice, but it may be problematic for those with allergies or sensitivities to such things. I highly recommend both Roosters and Bricktops (2 restaurants within easy walking distance to the hotel). Zink, just a bit further away, has unfortunately closed. :( ...

If you want to be in South Park Charlotte this is the Hotel to be. Enjoyed the basketball semi-finals in the bar which was loaded with TVs and sofas.

We checked in early at the hotel after driving 13 hrs from upstate NY & they said that it would be fine, they would not send us back out because we were clearly exhausted from our drive. I specifically asked if we would be charged for this due to the early arrival & the lady at the desk said "oh no, we won't send you back out to the streets", the reason I asked is because we had booked & paid on Priceline prior & got a great deal and I knew the regular rate would be expensive & before I would let them charge me their rate I wanted to check around & stay somewhere else until check in that was cheaper. She assured me "no problem". We went up to our room unpacked, were in bed, about 30-40 minutes later the room phone rings & it is the SAME lady that said it was fine informing me we WOULD be charged & the fee was going to be $199...we got a deal on Priceline for $XX/per night, that is a HUGE difference. But I was thinking REALLY...you let us get settled & then call well after 2 AM to tell us you are charging us. I refused to pay it & my boyfriend gave the desk attendant his credit card so we wouldn't have to pack up & look for another place to put the charges on. The next day I look at my banking online app & they not only charged my card for the night & incidentals but held $300.00 on his card also..this is after I specifically told them NO charges on my card & the remaining stay I had already paid "IN FULL" through Priceline. I went to complain & they agreed to call the bank to release hold & I could hear the management all the way from the back yelling because she had to do this, not too mention I was in a hurry & the lady informed her of this & she rudely was yelling that wasn't her problem I would have to wait! So, after that release, the day of check out they slip a bill under the door & charged my card for ENTIRE STAY AGAIN! Went to complain & get released, not even an apology! They were RUDE & it caused other charges on my acct! WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN! HORRIBLE!

Not much to say... a typical Marriott hotel... clean, slightly dated, but very nice. Great staff and a good location.
