Hotel Guest Reviews of the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

This hotel is old and has a "two pipe heating system." This means they can either run the heat *or* the air conditioning in the whole building, but not both. We were there May 4th and they had not switched over to air yet, so the room was sweltering.

This hotel may be fine for summer or winter, but not spring or fall when the weather varies. This hotel is old and has a "two pipe heating system." This means they can either run the heat *or* the air conditioning in the whole building, but not both. We were there May 4th and they had not switched over to air yet, so the room was sweltering. They brought us a fan at 11pm and suggested we sleep with the window open (of course it only opens two inches). As soon at the sun came in in the morning, the room was HOT and UNCOMFORTABLE. We were supposed to stay two nights but only stayed one and got our money back from Priceline. ...read more

This is one of my favorite Chicago hotels! The location is perfect, views are great, and the rooms are comfortable.
Everything was great except for the bed. The mattress was just too soft for me.

The hotel is lovely, the staff is courteous and friendly, and the location is perfect. It also offers a nice fitness room. Michigan Avenue and all it has to offer is right outside the front door. Navy Pier and great restaurants are all around. It's a great experience--definitely 4 stars!

The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.. Infact, the were able to adjust our room to a king bed without any additional charges.
The lobby bar was a busy place at night that could use more seating. However, there is nothing I did not like or felt was negative about the hotel.

This hotel is within walking distance of all your shopping needs. The staff was helpful and the hotel was extremely clean. Their was nothing negative about this experience and the hotel lived up to its four star rating...

The location was perfect! Hotel staff was very friendly and check-in was very easy.
Our stay here was very nice, but the lobby area was always very crowded because the bar area was nearby. Needed additional seating area, we couldn't sit down and enjoy our Starbucks, which is located in the lobby area as well.

This hotel was centrally located for our weekend stay in Chicago. We enjoyed North Bridge Mall down the street, Grand Lux Cafe next door and Hard Rock Cafe down the street as well. Navy Pier is in walking distance. Wish we had a refrigerator in our room, but otherwise a very clean hotel.

We like this hotel for the location and have stayed here before. Nice pool. Great bar. Nice access to Starbuck's in the lobby. Comfortable beds.
We stayed here one night. For some reason, the air conditioning did not work. It was 78 degrees in the room all night long. They gave us a fan and told us that there was nothing that could be done, inbetween seasons, to get it to work. It was a long nt

Great location, nice pool, great bar, Starbucks in lobby, friendly staff. But the air-conditioning did not work. According to staff, it was 'inbetween seasons and couldn't become activated until several days/nights of 70+ degrees occured. It was 78 degrees in our room all night long. They gave us a fan. It didn't help in the least. We had children in our room and everyone was very uncomfortable and awake the whole night. They gave us ONE 'free coffee and free pastry" for the entire room to make up for it. I will post this exact same bit of info on another review sight if Priceline neglects to post it. We have stayed in this hotel before but this was really a horrible experience and the next day was a waste as well because everyone in our family was so tired. It was quite ridiculous and I've never heard of such a thing about air conditioning not working??? Pretty negative experience in the end. ...read more

The Coincerge desk was very helpful and friendly
The only thing was that when I booked on priceline it said that the self parking was an additional fee so I paid for parking at a different garage because it was cheaper than the self parking fee. upon check in found out self park was included in rate.

Staff is very friendly, pool and whirlpool were very nice and relaxing and the hotel is close to everything. Very nice hotel..

Location was great. Staff was awesome - very helpful for us since we did not know the area at all.
The pool was much smaller than in the picture. Refridgerator in the room would have been nice.

Hotel was clean & staff was very friendly. It was nice that we could drop off our bags before our room was ready. Close to American Girl store - walking distance. Very nice hotel.
