Hotel Guest Reviews of the Colony South Hotel & Conference Center
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 15, 2013

Nice facility and friendly staff. If you stay on the weekend be perpared to deal with the lounge crowd and parking if you are entering the hotel at night. If you are into the club scene this would be an excellent place to stay. If not you may want to consider another hotel.

The Colony South is one of the old grand suburban hotels that has allowed it self to become outdated, reflecting much upkeep neglect or modernizing,i.e. no microwave oven or fridge, only adequate TV and beds. Room size and bathroom/shower were excellent. Great location, convient for short drive to DC and Southern Maryland though no public transportation. Free parking and good breakfast(if you pay the extra for "free breakfast"). Not likely stay there again in the near future. ...

Recession has hit this hotel HARD. Peeling wallpaper, smelly Elevators and Radiator in room was filthy. Breakfast was a joke, we spent the extra money, boy were we sorry. Staff, while courteous not warm and friendly like you would expect at a hotel. We have stayed at numerous hotels in this area and this hotel was by no means up to par.

The hotel was outdated and the staff was rude and not very accommodating. It took over 20 minutes to check in and I was lied to by management and when I asked to get my money back I was told that was impossible.

For the Priceline cost, this hotel is a little more than satisfactory. Still only a 2 to 2 1/2 star hotel.

I would recommend this hotel for romantic or business travel. The convenience of the lounge and restaurant on the lobby level is also a big plus. Unlike, some of the reviews, I did not find the rooms to be really old or tattered looking. In addition, the modern flat screen TV was better than what you find at some other comparable hotels.
