Hotel Guest Reviews of the Continental Lodge

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Hotel was in a bit dicey a neighborhood.

The room itself was very clean although the towels were very small. There was a mini fridge in the room, but it either didn't work or was unplugged. The WiFi never worked, even after I got the password. The key kept getting deactivated and I had to go downstairs to get it reactivated twice, on the morning I checked out the key thing on my door stopped working at all and the front desk clerk had to let me in with the emergency key so I could get my stuff. I think the staff this week was working as coverage for the regulars who were on vacation, so my experience may have been unusual. The TV was a hassle, it had to reload the signal constantly so it was hard to just plop down on the bed and veg out after a long day of roaming San Francisco. ...read more

Very clean and staff friendly.
Neighborhood was a little scary and could hear others talking outside until late at night.

The room was very clean, comfortable and looked just like the picture. We, also, liked that there was a little frig & micro wave we could use. The neighbors were a little loud and noisey but were quite after 11:00pm. It was not far from downtown Oakland or the freeways. It is a nice Hotel for the price.

Bed was pretty comfortable actually. TV was good.
Amenities that are listed not included. Primitive bathroom. Very noisy. Bad location. Over priced.

It looked like they are trying to renovate, which is nice. The linens are decent, seems like a new paint job. However, you still feel a little uncomfortable with the jail like bathroom. The pipes were all rusty and old. The toilet seat was dirty. Every time the water was turned on there was a very loud whine and creaks. There is no closet, but there is space to plant luggage on. The room was very noisy. People opening and shutting doors, outside street noise, yelling and hard stomping from staff, etc. I didn't enjoy that the front desk had a protective glass that you need to talk through, made me feel very unsafe. Coffee maker had to be brought to us, and we were given the remote at check-in. The room seemed like a motel. It was also surprisingly clean even though I saw an exterminator spraying rooms upon check-in. It was a decent nights stay, especially if it is for one night, but not some place that you would want to take kids to. ...read more

Had a dvd player and the bed was fairly comfortable.
Poor service and promptness from staff.

Service was horrible. The hotel room was overpriced and not very big. There were some perks but were far outweighed by the negative aspects.

Room was well-appointed for price. The bathroom had a sensor so the light turned on when you walked in.
They hand you the remote when you register and you have to give it back when you leave.

Nice room. Okay service. Loud street. Bring earplugs. Extremely well-appointed for price. I would stay there again. Loved the sensor in the bathroom that automatically turns light on when you walk in. Haven't seen that in nicer hotels. Fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave.
