Hotel Guest Reviews of the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Texarkana, Tx
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. It was easy on and off the highway for travelers. We had a small room, but again we were just traveling through. The breakfast was nice, and had a variety of food, something for everyone.

We will never stay at this hotel again. When we arrived late, on a Friday night, the clerk was not at the front desk. We waited for over 15 minutes for a clerk to arrive. When we were finally checked in, we got to our room only to realize we had 1 king bed and we had booked 2 queen beds. Not only did we have to wait to check in , and it was late, we now had to go back to the desk and have them give us a room with the correct number of beds. Being exhausted from traveling, we went to bed immediately after arriving in our room only to be awaken by the heat! We had set the air conditioner at 70 degrees but the room temperature was 74. After turning the thermostat down several times during the night, we realized the air conditioner would not stay running. We told the front desk the next morning and was rudely told that the maintenance man would not be there until Monday morning so housekeeping would have to see if she could fix the problem. We left the hotel for the day to our appointments. When we arrived back at the hotel that night, fairly late, we were told the housekeeper could not fix the air so we would have to move rooms. At this point, we had to re-pack our things and move to another room. The air appeared to be working as it was running when we fell asleep. However, we again awoke in the middle of the night, due to the heat. Several times during the night we attempted to lower the temperature in that room. The thermostat never would go below 72 degrees. If you have ever been to East Texas, you will realize it is the most hot and humid climate in Texas. Air conditioning, even in the spring, is very needed. We were very uncomfortable during our entire stay at this hotel. Between the broken or governed air conditioners, to the mold in the bathroom, to the very rude staff, we will never be staying in this hotel again. ...

Wasn't expecting a lot for the cheap rate that I booked this room for, but boy was I surprised. The hotel is very nice & clean, the staff is very friendly & helpful. I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a nice place but not pay Hilton prices. And even though it is a tad bit off the beaten path, with the road construction finished you are only 2 minutes from all the shopping areas but you don't have the traffic and noise going on all night. ...

Really nice hot breakfast on real plates and silverware! Hot eggs, bacon or sausage everyday. Oatmeal is prepared and ready to scoop - you don't have to make your own instant. Center bar area has outlets for laptops if you want to work while eating. Coffee, juice, milk all available with real glassware.
The room was nice. Has both refrigerator and microwave hidden in the furniture so it's there but not obtrusive. Nice workchair at the desk and a powerstrip on top with 4 outlets and a wired network plug. Outlets also on the lamp bases next to the bed for your phone charger. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom has granite counter and granite shower walls over the bathtub. Lots of storage area under the counter. A real closet to store the rest. Nice 32" flatscreen TV that always came on with reduced volume and the tv guide channel - too smart! Wired and wireless access was flawless during our 3 day stay.
Hot coffee available all day with chocolate chip cookies. Very nice indoor pool and spa.
Our only complaint was that the room lighting was inadequate to read unless you were directly under a lamp. Would have liked to have an overhead light available in the main room area. But that is the only issue we had and it was small.
Our second stay here and we will be back. ...

This is a new facility and everything was spic and span. We've been on the road for three weeks and this was, for the price, the best hotel we've stayed. The staff was very helpful. The included breakfast in the morning was as good as one can expect. Easy to find...just off the interstate, yet, the hotel is far enough off the freeway to not have a noise problem. Many retail stores and good eating establishments are located within a couple of miles. ...
