Hotel Guest Reviews of the Courtyard By Marriott Embassy Row

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great loaction, friendly staff overall; the Manager, Ian, was incredibly helpful in resolving a concern that I had. Excellent stay!
They closed the pool early the first night that we stayed, which was somewhat annoying...

A lot of the franchise Courtyards seem to comply with updating the public areas which are modern and very nice. The rooms, however, seem a bit outdated comparatively. This hotel automatically puts Priceline customers into a KING bed (based on double occupancy) and then charges you if you want to make a change. I was very displeased and told the Office Manager, Agnes, who didn't care, was very rude, and unhelpful. After speaking with Marriott Customer Care, however, my complaint was handled by Ian, who personally checked us in and resolved the issue. (I was travelling with a buddy, and we did not want to share a bed!) Ian and staff made our stay very enjoyable! (Avoid Agnes at all costs!) ...read more

Great location, modern look, free computer access in the lobby, small but nice pool area, very helpful and pleasant front desk staff. I like that they offer "green" products-paraban free etc.
You will hear traffic from rooms in the front- but that's inevitable with the location. There is construction next door- sidewalk is blocked- but that did not affect our stay or noise level.

Hotel was booked as "express deal" and we were overall very pleased! Able to walk to metro to get to zoo and walk to the "mall" for museums etc. National Geographic museum just around the corner. Great restaurants within walking distance as well.

The location to public transportation, it was clean
I wanted a soda to settle stomach. Room service was over. I walked up the stairs to 6 floors looking for a working soda/water machine. After the sixth floor I gave up and went back to my room on the second floor. None of the vending machines were work

The hotel was clean, room we had was clean and comfortable. It had all I needed including wifi. However I made a local call and they charged me 75 cents. It was noted on the phone. I would have waited for my cell phone to charge.

Spacious room and housekeeping was prompt and always a predictable late morning
WiFi is so slow within the room it is unusable. Have to go to the lobby

Helpful staff, clean hotel.
I did not like the $30 nightly charge (with tax) for valet parking. Wish there was a way for Priceline to navigate these extra charges somehow to help the user experience.

This was a nice hotel with a good rate. The rate takes a hit when you are assessed $30 a night parking, so keep that in mind when you are asessing whether it is a value. Apple computers in the smallish lobby are a nice touch. Hotel bar does not open until 4PM, so don't plan on a libation with lunch or watching an afternoon game or golf match on the tube.

Great location! Very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary water is appreciated and specially labelled water bottle nice touch. Heat/cool in room very quiet!
minor..no complimentary coffee available in lobby and/or real creamers in room for little machine.Pool was hot and over chlorinated.Bathroom was very small and tub slippery, glad there is grab bar. Room service menu had no breakfast. Window filthy.

Very nice hotel in the city. Parking is $35 but we found overnight parking on the same block if you didn't mind moving the car to a meter space at 7am. We used the car, so it was worth the trouble. Nice computer to use in lobby, but no privacy at it. We were on busy street side, so there was constant traffic noise, but you got used to it, thought it was loud from 5:50 am. Staff was very helpful. Attached restaurant was pretty good. Not really a kid place. Lots of cute restaurants a couple blocks away. ...read more

Great location in walking distance to Dupont Circle and different Metro stations. The lobby is beautiful with great Apple computers for you to utilize and a printer also. Front desk employees very helpful and professional. Rooms very clean.
We expected that booking through priceline would not grant us the best room in the place. We ended up in a very nice sized room on the second floor which was great but it looked into the back alley and we were awoken by trucks every morning

Friendly staff, good location. Lobby area seemed nice and lively. Rooms were standard, nothing to complain or rave about. Overall quality stay.
