Hotel Guest Reviews of the Crowne Plaza Chicago Magnificent Mile
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. We really enjoyed our stay, especially because we got upgraded to a king suite on the 37th floor overlooking both the city and the lake. The staff were helpful and courteous, especially the doormen who always helped me when I came with the stroller. The hotel's restaurant wasn't very impressive, I'd recommend venturing around, there were a ton of restaurants and cafes in the vacinity. MBurger right accross the street has amazing burgers and shakes, not greasy or heavy, just delicious! And very reasonably priced. We were disappointed that the pool wasn't open despite such gorgeous weather, and a little frustrated that there was no conceirge desk. Housekeeping were fantastic and did a fantastic job. ...

We wondered if we got the less desirable room because we used Priceline. Very loud ice machine above us. "Employees only" room next to us was very loud. The door slammed several times a day. We could hear noises from in there most of the day. No vending machines. No fridge or microwave. Sensor controlled mini bar so we didn't dare even open it. Very comfortable bed. Terrible elevators. Tiny and one not working. Staff very professional. The air conditioner did not work the second night. We set it at 66 but we were very hot all night, and so were our guests in another room. It was close to things. Easy to walk to places. I know it is Chicago, but parking is incredibly expensive. I don't believe we will be staying there again. ...

I would stay there again. It was the right price and in a great location. Gino's East pizza was right across the street. Most attractions were just blocks from the hotel.

They charge for Internet access. And it doesn't work. Also, no PPV, but not a big problem in a nice city like Chicago.

Pros- in walking distance to Navy Pier, a little farther to get to the museums but we did it, close to the magnificant mile, wonderful El (train system). Cons- I really cannot think of any

Great location for shopping and eating. It was 1 block from the bus stop and 4 blocks from the subway. There was no need for us to rent a car.

Location was very good. Staff was professional, very helpful and pleasant. Room and bathroom were fine. Water pressure was excellent. The public space was more utilitarian than fancy. The attached bar/cafe was charming.
