Hotel Guest Reviews of the Crowne Plaza Paris Republique

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Nothing.
The hotel lobby and halls were really messy.

The is extreme construction going on directly outside the hotel door. It was very disruptive to our stay. The work started at 7am and went well into the early evening. We had NO rest at all during our stay in the hotel. Very disappointed. This should have been noted prior to our booking.

The hotel provided a great nights sleep, and a pretty good location next to a very good MET stop (The Republique Stop). This stop was a very convenient starting point for trips on the MET all over the city. There was a nice coffee maker in the room too.
NO FREE INTERNET! When will hotels learn? When will they stop gouging us? Also, there is construction being done on the Republique Square, but it wasn't noisy during the times when normal people sleep. There was also no mess from the construction.

The hotel was nice, and the comfortable bed was a touch smaller than usual. This is Europe, so a smaller bed is to be expected, but just a reminder that this bed was really comfortable. The pillows were a little thin for my taste. The location by the Republique Station on the Metropolitain was nice for our tourism needs. There is a McDonalds and KFC within walking distance if you have finicky tourists who can't handle a great meal at one of the restaurants nearby. There is a great bakery around the corner for a good breakfast and coffee. We did not eat at the hotel. ...read more

Room was better than I expected. Staff was extremely helpful. Not the busiest of areas but steps away from the Metro.
Need to provide wifi in rooms, not just lobby. Paying ¿18 for a 24 hour period but having to walk down to lobby every time was a nuisance.

Use the Concierge, they offer great tips on how to get around the city to all the attractions. They also sell bus tour and select museum passes at the hotel so you can avoid lineups.

Very nice about upgrading us to a large room. Staff was all helpful. Location is great since it is a center for many metro lines. Very close to the marais which is one of the most fun sections of Paris. Beds were very comfortable.
The wireless situation which has been mentioned many times is not great.

It's a great hotel if you're using the metro system which you should. Although you're staying in an American hotel, venture a few blocks out and you're in a very interesting neighborhood that is not touristic and has tons of good restaurants. I wouldn't hang out there to eat or drink, but it is a great base. We asked the people they worked there for their favorite places and got a lot of great tips. ...read more

Location was excellent, just a couple of steps from the Metro station... best of all, we had a balcony with a view of the Eiffle Tower!
Wifi was not included in the price, it was not even available in the room. It was an added on option that could only be used downstairs in the lobby area of the Hotel.

There was more positives than there were negatives. I would stay at the Crowne Plaza Paris Republic again.

Helpful staff, near the Metro.
Very noisy surroundings - traffic and construction noise was bothersome 24 hours per day. Ridiculous charge for Wi-Fi access (when most hotels offer this for free).

Good, safe hotel in "transitional" neighborhood. Is not in easy walking distance of any of the attractive/interesting areas of the city, so Metro travel is a must. "Nickle and dime" policy regarding 8 Euro per hour access to Wi-Fi is really out of step with most hotels in France. Good concierge service - friendly staff.

The best thing about this hotel was the customer service and the location.
I did not like the construction outside the front of the hotel as it blocked access to the "green" public square and there was a lot of traffic at all hours however, it really was not that much of a negative point.

If you appreciate good customer service, this hotel gets high marks...especially from the bellmen, the front desk and one of the guys working the bar in the afternoon. The internet service was expensive (18euros for 24hours) and required a cable in the room to access, but it was fast and reliable. The nearest Metro (Republique) was a major station that had many lines going every direction so you were not far from anything in the city. Our room was facing the inside courtyard and it was noticably quiet both day and night. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were great too. I noticed while walking, a few 2 star hotels in the area for considerable less money, however I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this 4 star hotel if you don't have to watch your budget too tightly. We arrived at the hotel mid-morning and a room was not available however, we came back at noon and were able to get checked in. Also, we asked to switch rooms our final night for two beds instead of one and that was no problem at all. ...read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, there was a metro steps away which was very convenient. The room was large by Paris standards.

Wonderful staff!! An absolutely beautiful, giant inner courtyard!! It compares very well with the many other Paris hotels we have had in the past. But the all the extra space is unusual for Paris hotels and especially nice .
All was OK and we were very happy with our stay! The lobby was plain, somewhat worn and a bit small for the size of the hotel. it was not the best environment for a meeting as we had expected. It is in need of minor updating as are parts of the hotel.

The subway is just outside the front of the hotel which is especially nice. The room we had was very large by Paris standards which we especially appreciated. Every one of the staff were the very best! The room was large and excellent with a wonderful view of the courtyard. When the updating [soon to be finished] of the very large Republique square in front of the hotel is finished it will be beautiful. The large space available in the room and the hotel are a primary considerations. Some minor updating and this could be a 5 star hotel. The staff is already at the 5 star level. They are exceptional. ...read more

Great location, Metro right at the front door.
the renovation works of Place de la Republique are still going on which makes the area busy and a little bit noisy. We spent the weekend there so the wotks did not disturb us too much. Breakfast is very expensive.

Great location. Multilingual staff, very kind and efficient. Romms are quite espacious, batroom is modern and comfortable. the coffee tray is nice, especially the french instant chocolate drink. Until renovation of the Place de la republique will be finished moving around is a little bit cumbersome and not very convenient. taxis cannot pick you up at the frot dor. Homeless occupy part of the walkway during evening and night. to sum up - a convenient, well located hotel, recommneded. ...read more
