Hotel Guest Reviews of the Crowne Plaza Sacramento I-80 (Northeast)
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 18, 2013

There was food within a reasonable distance and it was easily accessible by highway. The traffic in the area was a bit congested, and it was not the best part of town for tourism fun. However, I felt the value and quality of the hotel was a great fit for those who wanted something nice, clean, and comfortable, but also had to operate on a budget.

When I arrived at the property, I thought that the hotel looked a bit dated. However, once I got inside, I was thoroughly impressed. The lobby was nice and very modern. The staff was great. Once I got into my room, I was more than pleasantly surprised. The most important thing to me when I stay is a comfortable bed, and mine was definitely good. Great experience!

This hotel served my needs even though it was much further from my work site then I would have wished. Even though there were, it appeared, several groups of exuberant young people, the noise did not penetrate the walls. Besides hearing them in the halls we were not disturbed.

Security could be better or more visible. I was concerned about the notice of parking at your own risk, the easy access all around & presence of some 'shaddy characters' milling about and propping open a back door, with a vehicle & driver on the backside waiting & not in a marked stall...! I alerted the staff upon my checkout, but do not know if they found the individuals.

Good average hotel within close proximity to Sacramento attractions. Right off freeway for easy access.

Hotel is nice aesthetically, but the pool is not heated and the rooms are small with no refrigerator or microwave. The staff is very accommodating and there were "real" eggs for breakfast. If you are not using the pool, the hotel is a nice bare-bones step up from Motel 6.

Upon reading the reviews, I called 2-3 days before my arrival and asked for a room on the opposite of the building on the sixth floor away from the freeway. The woman who I talked to said that it would be no problem. When I checked in the desk clerk tried to give me a room on the second floor facing the freeway. I told him that I had been told that I could have a room on the opposite side of the building away from the freeway. Well, he gave me a room on the 6th floor facing the freeway. When I went to the room, let me tell you, it was noisy. I called the front desk and he told me he could give me a room on the 5th floor above the lobby area, but that was it. I decided to keep the room on the 6th floor. I know it's the principle of the thing. I turned on the fan/blower and thought it would be adequate. It wasn't adequate. That night I could hear freeway noise above the fan/blower motor. When I talked to the desk clerk the next morning I told him about the situation and he used the lame excuse that the hotel had been slammed....I've been in business for 30 years and have traveled extensively. What I have found is that the customer is ALWAYS right in most situations. If a business wants someone to return for repeat business, satisfy them. It wouldn't have been that difficult. BUT, I did get a room for a very good price and that may have been the issue from the beginning @ check-in with the desk clerk on duty. So, the Crowne Plaza doesn't get my repeat business and I will tell everyone to try another hotel. I never thought that I would ever complain extensively about a hotel, but it's my turn. By the way, one of the bath towels had 2 strands of long, dense human hair on it when I went to use the towel....Yuck! ...
