Hotel Guest Reviews of the Crowne Plaza Silver Spring
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 11, 2012

No bathroom fan! Apparently none of their rooms have bathroom fans. At first, I thought, no big deal. Spray a little air freshener when I used the bathroom. Well the first morning, showered x2 and went out to DC for the day. Came back to a hotel room that smelled more like mildew then hotel. It was pretty bad, to the point where we had to switch rooms. The kicker here is that none of the rooms have a basic vent fan to prevent this. So you either take a very quick shower, or crank the A/C down in the low 60's so it just runs all day. This basically worked, but it wasn't real comfortable coming back to a 64 degree hotel room. In addition to the issue above, everything was under construction. Pool completely drained, restaurant closed. Those are really the only two amenities. Free WiFi was nice, and really should be more common. Beds were a little uncomfortable, and we ended up with two singles instead of one queen.

This hotel has the potential to be a nice place, but they put us in a corner right next to where renovations were going on, so we heard drills and saws for hours, beeping of smoke alarm because of battery outage for hours, even after reported, cart for luggage had flat tires, front desk people answered phones in the middle of talking to customers and finishing helping us out.

The hotel is located very conveniently. The carpets at the hotel give a dirty feel. The common area needs renovation. The rooms and common areas present a dark tone, which may not be likable by some customers. Allowing pets is another big downer.

Clean room, attractively decorated. Lobby under construction, I'm sure will be beautiful when completed.

This is older, luxury hotel,(many newer have been built nearby in the past 10-15 years), built with a striking curving design. The rooms, and furniture, are luxurious. The elevators are fast. There are lots of excellent meeting rooms. The pool was summer only, obviously.
