Days Inn Abilene

The hotel needs some attention. It looks as if someone was attempting to improve it with some paint, but the job was so poorly done that it was like they put sloppy lipstick on a pig. We had paid for 2 nights and though we wanted to leave after the first we couldn't without losing our money. It is an uncomfortable embarrassment that the owners and the managers think that this an appropriate place for people to stay. It was dirty, unkept and had broken furniture and lamps in the room. People in office were difficult to understand. Breakfast area was very crowded.

Our stay at this hotel was not very pleasant.

Days Inn is always a mixed bag. Stayed at great ones before and unfortunately stayed in ones like Abilene's as well. No Iron in room (had to request one) and first one I requested didn't work. Room was in desperate need of update. Pool could have been cleaner. Bedside lights in room didn't work. Not good if you're a reader. No elevators. Not good if you get booked on the second floor. This hotel was one of the worst we have ever stayed in. It was dirty, overpriced and the room stunk. The door didn't even have the extra lock on it, and there was mold in the shower. The toilet leaked all over the floor every time we flushed. The beds were like sleeping on pavement and squeaked every time you budged. We were very disappointed in this hotel. It's good for a cheap business trip, but don't expect any frills.

The maintenance was worse than the sum of its problems, whoever the substandard worker was who worked on the rooms, they look really bad, maybe they need someone outside of Texas to take a look.

I would recommend this hotel as it is very clean and staff is courteous.
