Location is alright, right off of Iowa st. The hotel staff could not find our reservation. Despite encountering this challenge in the past, they had no quick remedy.

Solo Traveler
The room was clean, secure and had a small fridge and microwave which both were in working order. The TV was pre-set with no way to re-set so I had Fox News, two family stations, two of four major networks and several local/public stations.

Solo Traveler
Good location near downtown restaurants and venues. Very cheap, but you get what you pay for, i.e: '70's carpet, small holes in walls, unfinished light fixtures with highlighter decor, trash in drawers, and a clearly-marked "No Smoking" room that we were told was ok to smoke in. Overall though, despite all of it's flaws, it did serve it's purpose. We were only about a mile away from our venue downtown. Close to food, groceries, alcohol, etc. And the front desk clerk was very helpful with directions, delivery numbers, and suggestions. ...

Family Traveling with Teens
While the lobby was clean, it smelled as if the clerks were cooking something very strong in the back. The staff was professional, but the smell of the lobby made me not take advantage of the free breakfast. There were several poorly repaired holes in the drywall. I suppose Lawrence being a college town, damage to the walls is probably frequent. Yet, the repairs were very poor. The tile in the bathroom, for example was really bad. The tissue paper holder kept falling out of the wall. I would stay again, but only if I could not stay with friends first. ...
