Hotel Guest Reviews of the Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The price. The hotel was about $75 less a night than ones slightly closer to where I needed to be.
The immediate neighborhood was not great.

Good basic accommodations and just a two minuted drive to the heart of the Gaslamp District in San Diego.

The location.
I did not like the hidden fees taxes and parking fees. I will not book with priceline again because of these fees.

The room I stayed in was very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable... & a nice breakfast in the am.
An additional $ 15.00 parking fee that is not listed on the web site for booking is a very unexpected fee. I was indeed not very happy about this at all. I had a conversation w/ the hotel Mgr. and he said all Downtown Hotels cahrge a parking fee(Not True)

I would reccomend this hote to family & friends, and I would ceetainly ask for the parking fee to be waived... The Hotel Mgr. waived my parking fee, as I proved to him that all Downtown hotels in San Diego do not cahrge for daily parking... If anything charge a higher room rate, but do not charge Hotel guest a hidden parking fee at the time they check-in... This is not Good !

Clean rooms. Needs some maintenance, but clean.

For the price, this is an excellent value for a clean room in a location not too far from most places in Downtown San Diego.

The room was great. I love the balcony, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron, bottle opener.
The room was very cold. San Diego had a cold wave and the tiny heater in the room barely warmed the air 2 feet in front of it. We slept in our clothes to stay warm. The sliding glass door to the balcony was very draftee.

Also I used to love this place for the free parking. The management would always let us park there for a couple hours after check out too. Now $15 a day and don't forget to put your pass in the window or you might get towed. I might still staff here again if I'm going to the HOB because it is close. But I'll stay somewhere closer to Petco if I go see a baseball game since those hotels have always charged for parking. The Hilton has better cable too. Horrible TV reception. No HD. I don't get the fuzzy channels like old rabbit ears reception. ...read more

The room was big, which was nice because we had a stroller and a pack-and-play to set up. We took our one year old so more space is good for him to run around in.
It's WAY too close to the main road and the 163 freeway. It was SUPER loud all night long. There were horns honking and semi truck air brakes going all night. The windows are single pane and don't seal well so there is pretty much no sound proofing to

The photo I saw online of the breakfast wasn't even close. I don't think it's even the same locations breakfast. Everything but the cereal and fruit was frozen and thawed. Muffins, bagels, milk, yogurt, and even the cream cheese had a gritty texture from being frozen. There were apples and bananas at least. ANd juice boxes which was neat for the kiddo.

Walking distance to a lot of good places--downtown, Balboa Park, restaurants, etc. Good value for the location.
There was nothing that I specifically didn't like. Not a lot of TV choices, but that isn't the point of going to San Diego!

The big draw for me was the location of this hotel (a quarter mile or so from Balbo Park! It's a bit of a walk, but check out Taco Express, a great little taqueria. While the place itself isn't glitzy, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and it's an affordable place for frugal couple, a low maintenance business traveler, or a quick getaway to San Diego.

The bathroom had been updated.
It smelled like urine by the elevator. The central
AC had been replaced with a very noisy wall AC unit. The room had a old musty smell. The room's rug was dirty.

The location and front desk staff were awesome!
We did not like having to pay separately for parking.
