Hotel Guest Reviews of the Delaware Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.August 5, 2012

The Delaware Hotel was built in 1886 during the height of mining activity in Leadville, Colorado. At the time it was the most fashionable place to stay. Today, you will still find it's like going back to that time period. There is a very, very steep stairway to get to the upper floors where the rooms are located. Be aware the hotel does not have an elevator. The old fashioned rooms have fifteen foot ceilings, antiques, and original woodwork. In fact you will find antiques everywhere for sale. The Delaware is located right on main street close to the shops, restaurants and museums. The best part is during the summer the temps are in the high 60's since you are at 10,200 feet elevation. There are high mountains that surround Leadville and keep it much cooler. The restaurant served a very good breakfast, but you do have a free continental breakfast with your room. Everyone who worked for the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely say the hotel has guests who have never left. I felt my shoulder shaken in the middle of the night which woke me, but my kiddo was sound asleep in the next bed. Who knows! ...
