Hotel Guest Reviews of the Dewitt Place
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.January 15, 2013

Great location and friendly staff. Convenience store directly across the street so no need to drive for groceries or wine. Room was nice with view of Lake Michigan. No major complaints. Parking was a little pricey but that's Chicago for ya.

Despite the uncomfortable bed and the warm temperature of the room, I would still stay at this hotel again. For the price, you really can't beat it. My husband and I loved being able to have a kitchen and a view of the lake. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location, very quaint hotel & room. Parking was fairly inexpensive compared to other places I have stayed in the city. We will definitely stay here again.

I will stay here again when in Chicago. Great recommendations for food and tours. Modest exercise room, but it did have a vibrating machine to stimulate lymphs and circulation- that was cool. Staff was very helpful and the wifi was pretty fast.

Great location. Staff was very helpful. They let us check in hours before check-in time.

No parking, the public lot next door was 27.00 for an overnight. Would be a better deal of the hotel, if could validate the parking. However, I understand that the Dewitt place is normally corporate temporary housing. Great place to stay!

Great spot from which to sightsee in Chicago. Close to Lake Michigan in a quiet area. 2 parking lots nearby. Great staff!

I had a good experience on my trip, but I was unable to sleep comfortably in my hotel room. I was extremely allergic to something in the room. I've used feather pillows before, so that could not have been it. Perhaps someone smoked in the room before, or perhaps the room is old and has mold. Either way, I had to buy allergy medicine in order to sleep and even then I didn't sleep well. I eventually got a sinus infection because of the situation. I am currently on antibiotics for it. ...

The location of Dewitt is excellent. You're right next to the John Hancock Observatory and several blocks away from the Red line. Although we were traveling during the busy Lollapalooza weekend, prices were very comparable. This is not technically a hotel but more "corporate living" (their words), like a vacation rental. The concierge was very helpful and the overall staff was very polite. As for the room, I was disappointed with how run down the room was. We found small bugs throughout the bathroom and near the bed. The bath room plumbing needs major attention (tub and sink) and overall the bathroom needs a face lift. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was nice to have. The location and cost of the hotel were the big positives for Dewitt. However, I'm not certain I will stay again unless it's noted that the rooms have had some remodeling.
