Hotel Guest Reviews of the Discovery Lodge
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 6, 2013

I am guessing but I bet if you don't have a dog the other rooms are probably much nicer. It is very close to Lake Estes (you really can walk to it) The lake has a 4mile loop which is great. No coffee pot in room but they offer it in the office for free in the mornings.

We actually had to be transfered to another lodge due to a major plumbing issue. The other lodge was suppose to have the same feel, but was definitely a major downgrade. I wish we would have been able to stay the night at the Discovery Lodge like we had planned. I would go back and rebook another room for a next time.

My husband and I visited Estes Park for a friend's wedding. The location was excellent, and it was easy to find. The windows are excellent and provide great views.

Our family paid 30 more to stay in a luxury hotel just down the road.

Nice cozy place and pleasant grounds. Hard to lock/unlock sliding patio door. Also, privacy was not good as the patio doors was off a common balcony, that everyone used. i.e; everyone passed your door while getting to their room.

it can be viewed.
The staff was helpful and the management takes pride in using renewable energy. The location is perfect for heading further into Rocky Mountain National Park. They have a pond with fountain which seems to attract Elk. A wonderful one night stay.

Was just what I expected. Nothing fancy, but close enough to walk into town and near a grocery store. Bed was comfortable. Good value.

Nice clean rooms and a firm mattress:) They should have put us in another room instead of the one at the bottom of the stairs. Noise from other guests (and it was a pretty quite place) ruined an expected peaceful stay. Make sure you get a second floor room, and don't get one on the ground with someone above you - you can hear everything through the floors!

Could be greatly enhanced by updating the beds/linen.
