Hotel Guest Reviews of the Donovan House, A Kimpton Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Horrible. ..........
I didn't like anything about it....its far from a four star. ...

It was small, the bed sat very low to the floor, it had a funny smell throughout the hotel.....

The staff was very helpful. Priceline didn't ask how many people I wanted to book for, so I expected a bedroom with 2 beds, but the bedroom had only 1 bed. Thanks to John who was able to find us a 2 beds bedroom for the same rate.

The parking is $45 for overnight.

Staff was great! I enjoyed my stay, just wish the roof deck had been ready! But a good excuse to return!
The room was very small, but certainly met my needs as just one guest. I wish coffee was served later than 9am (it might have been 9:30.)

Because the streets are so close, some GPS directions are hard to follow. The hotel is on the corner of a traffic circle & on the opposite side if the street as you exit circle & signage wasn't bold enough for the location. My room was small, but met my needs as a single guest. It would have been tight for 2 or if you spent any extended time in the room. Staff was excellent!

Rooms are large for a downtown hotel

Always a good experience at a Kimpton hotel; this one has larger rooms than some; you have to walk 3-4 blocks to get to food/nightlife areas, which isn't far, but just know the hotel is located more in a business district than a trendy area. There is also a 24hr CVS across the street which can be very helpful

This hotel is far from a 4 star hotel anywhere in the world. This could easily be a 3 star hotel.

It is not horrible, but it is the first time a hotel charged me extra for asking for 2 queen beds as opposed to 1 king. And they blamed Priceline for it.... The room was not very clean. I found hair in the shower as soon as I checked in. No ice machine, so you have to ask for ice every time you need. The rooms are pretty dark too... I wouldn't come back to it, given the number of better options in the area. ...read more

Good location in downtown DC. Firm, comfortable bed. Free internet. Good bar/restaurant. Staff was friendly.
Modern style was not my taste. Rooftop pool/bar was closed.

Generally a very good hotel choice, and at the priceline price I really can't complain. The room was reasonably large, clean, and I found the firm bed very comfortable. The design features were a little too modern for my taste. The staff was friendly. I was on the second floor, which did not require card access in the elevator. Some guests might not like that lower level of security. Overall, I would stay here again. ...read more

The staff was very nice. I loved the shower!
The rooftop pool was not open. I prefer breakfast to be included, even if it is just a continental breakfast.

Convenient location.
Nothing to dislike. Clean AVERAGE hotel. Worth the Priceline price. Far from 4 star.

Convenient location. Good transportation options. Close to metro. Clean, AVERAGE, hotel. Helpful staff. Kind of dark, limited dining options in hotel. Far from 4 star but well worth the discounted Priceline rate. Don't expect 4 star!

Location and staff made this a awesome stay.
Valet parking is a bit pricey, but it's DC, so it's expected.
