Hotel Guest Reviews of the Doubletree Hotel Boston - Downtown

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Staff was helpful and accommodated me when I asked to be moved to a different room.
Room quality, gym was not really a hotel gym, but a YMCA.

Rooms were not terribly clean or up-to-date. The tub appeared either dirty or very scratched. The first room I was given had a window that was ground-level adjacent to an outdoor, 2nd-floor roof recreation area for a YMCA. The room smelled of chlorine and/or a gym. I have never asked to change rooms in a hotel, but this one was bad, and the staff were kind enough to move me to another room on that floor, which did not have a window to the outdoors, but looked out into a laundry room. I asked again for another room. The third room on the fifth floor was an improvement. ...read more

We were there for the Boston Marathon and the staff went into "all hands on deck" mode after the bombings and were excellent. We had a very good experience before and after the attack. The staff went out of their way to be courteous and helpful.
The bi-level lobby with large staircase and no visible elevators on lower level was odd.

For the marathon, the location was terrific because we could walk from the finish without trouble. I thought the amenities were good and the rooms are very comfortable. We had a cot brought into our double room to accommodate 3 adults and we had no trouble with space. Nice and clean.

I was disappointed about the lack of a refrigerator and the overall smell of the hotel made me feel as if I were in a hospital.

the hotel is literally half a block from the Tufts Medical Center Orange Line stop and the Silver Line bus connection to the Airport (SL4 to SL1) free cookies
It did not feel much like a double tree hotel, more like a best western. There were all kinds of noxious fumes in the lobby area most afternoons as they were varnishing, fixing water damaged ceiling tiles with spray paint.

Great location, the hotel is literally half a block from the Tufts Medical Center Orange Line stop and the Silver Line bus connection to the Airport (SL4 to SL1) you can use the SL1 to get to Southern Station from the Airport for free, the hotel is close to Boston Commons and China Town Besides the cookies, don't think Double Tree in terms of the room, think Best Western. The room was somewhat under-decorated. The mini-fridge was just out in the room and the art was terrible. There were also crying babies and kids running around. ...read more

The hotel is very convenient to subway, near Chinatown ,few blocks from Boston Common, across Tuft Medical Center. The staff were friendly. The room was very clean.
The parking is too expensive. $43 for 24 hours.

The room was smelly and I tried to call the room service several times but no one answered the phone.

Yes the room was very roomy and the staff was very helpful. I would stay here again.
We booked using priceline but were not given the option to choose 2 double beds so we all had to sleep in a king. We have a family of 4 so it was a little tight.

It is a great location for Chinatown and the Theater district and the kids love the pool at the YMCA. We also only had to walk a few blocks to get to the Boston Common so we had a great time.
