Hotel Guest Reviews of the Doubletree Hotel San Diego Downtown

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The hotel was very nice. Comfortable bed, great hot shower, tasty breakfast buffet. It was a bit of a walk down to the convention center though.

Location was walking distance from little Italy.
This is supposedly a three and a half star hotel, I wish I knew the pool was under construction. I felt misled by hotel and Priceline. There is no way the hotel should have been in the bidding with other hoother hotels. Extremely disappointed.

The hotel staff was not very friendly or accommodating to our needs. I would not recommend this hitel t others.

NOTHING!
The first room we were given was not clean, bed sheets were not changed & no towels in the room. Second room was a mess as well. Found blood on the couch pillows. We started the water in the bath tub and there were floaties looked gross!!! 3 rooms later

We were EXTREMELY disappointed with this hotel! The location was not great, the rooms were gross and not taken care of at all. We were moved 3 time. We use Priceline all of the time, but this was BY FAR the worst experience we've had a hotel. In fact, we want our money back!!!

Spacious rooms, nice staff, easy street parking.
Even though its been cosmetically renovated, a lot of things still looked a little old.

Great location, just off I5. Easy to find parking on the street. Staff were very nice. Travelling with a baby, we needed a fridge to store milk but the room did not have one. When we asked if they could store milk for us in their fridge, they offered to send one up to our room right away, which I thought was very accommodating.

This hotel is clean, the staffs are great. But I think the guest parking is narrow and too compact. And the daily parking fee is $25, too expensive, a bit like the hidden charge.
Parking fee is $25, too expensive.

Basically, it is a good hotel, if they could lower their parking fee somehow, that should be very great, i.e., $10~15 should be reasonable.

Our room was great and the view was really nice. Every staff member was helpful and friendly.
The pool and hot tub were under repair. They woke us up every morning with extremely loud grinding noises. We were on the 17th. floor. I cannot even guess how bad it was for the folks on the lower floors.

Call the hotel first and see if the pool is fixed or bring earplugs.

Staff was overall nice. The location is good as it's close to highway and Little Italy.
I wish I knew that the hotel doesn't provide refrigerator and a safe with each room. There was a fee to have a regrigerator.

I'd say if you rent a car, don't stay in downtown as there is a parking fee. The hotel is close to the zoo but not that close to the Sea World & very far from Legoland, so if you don't have a car, you'll have to pay a lot for a cab as there is no shuttle & Public transportation is not that great. The hotel is close to Little Italy and Seaport Village.

The location was great, short walk to Little Italy, Central to down town San Diego, with freeway easy access
$25 a night park is not bad but I would like to have it as part of the reservation.

Nice, well maintained, clean hotel, I would stay there again because of the location. Staff was friendly and our four days had no bad experiences.

The hotel had a very nice staff. Checking in was fast, easy and they gave out delicious cookies when you check in :)
The pool was under construction which was a total bummer since it was 88 outside! Also, they have the worst parking structure in the history of parking structures! I was having an anxiety attack trying to leave the hotel! The ramps are so narrow!
