Hotel Guest Reviews of the Doubletree Washington
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 15, 2013

We were thrilled to have such a good hotel in a great location at a reasonable price. It is a bit of a hike to the Mall (Smithsonian and Capitol), but it would be a fairly inexpensive cab ride. The hotel had a nice pool, restaurant, and cocktail lounge. The staff were very friendly, but didn't always provide the best directions for out of towners. However, they were always willing to help. We were surprised that there was no bellman or concierge, but it wasn't a major problem for us. Parking was expensive, but no more so than at other hotels in the area. I would definitely stay in this hotel again!! Rent a bike at one of the public racks, and ride the Mall and great bike paths. That was a great and unexpected adventure. ...

I was happily surprised with this hotel. Our room was ready for early check-in which was a bonus. Although quaint, the room was clean and updated. You could even crack your windows open which was nice. The lobby and restaurant were very pretty. Locals even came to the hotel for the nightly happy hour. The location was close to all tourist attractions with about a 10 minute walk to the White House and 15-20 minute walk to museums and monuments. The Metro is 4 blocks away and there is a bike share around the corner. I heard little noise from other guests with the exception of slamming doors; ourselves included as if you forget to hold the door, its heavy enough with no spring to slam on its own. The television and cable could use an upgrade. We wanted to watch a baseball game and couldn't find what channels were provided as there was no guide or directions with channel line up. All guests have 24 access to a small fitness room and business center which was handy for printing our boarding pass. The food is pricey and mediocre. There is no mini fridge which was disappointing as we had to create a makeshift cooler with the ice bucket and sink. All in all, I would definitely stay here again! ...

Comfortable beds, nice staff, good location, got good directions when checking out to head to our next destination. We forgot our deoderant, and they provided us with complimentary supplies! Even though parking was not free, they provided us with quick service when retrieving our car when needed. I would stay there again.

The hotel was convenient for our purposes. We were there to see a concert and not do any site seeing. For the museums and the national mall staying at this hotel would require you to walk about 1/2 mile to the metro station to take you to that area, or you could walk about a mile. For us that would be ok, but it is good to note and would possibly sway others to stay closer to the mall area. The hotel was very clean but our room was a lot smaller than I expected for this star level. ...

liked the general neighborhood, loved being near a Whole Foods and CVS, safe neighborhood to walk, took more taxis than metro because 4 blocks to station and weather was main factor. Blustery winds and cold. Staff very helpful and personable, liked access to business center. excellent benefit to use computer to research or book attractions we wanted to see and to adjust our schedule to match the weather ...

Sorry if you get this hotel using Make your price. You will probably get these small rooms if you bid under a XXX in the Dupont area.

hotel needs a total renovation, but like avis, the staff tries harder-there oughtta be a law against putting a customer in a room with no window!
