Hotel Guest Reviews of the Doubletree Washington

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The hotel was clean, well furnished, and staff was friendly. It exceeded our expectations.
There was no bellman or concierge or at least none when we were there. We were fine toting our own bags, but it could be a problem for some folks.

We were thrilled to have such a good hotel in a great location at a reasonable price. It is a bit of a hike to the Mall (Smithsonian and Capitol), but it would be a fairly inexpensive cab ride. The hotel had a nice pool, restaurant, and cocktail lounge. The staff were very friendly, but didn't always provide the best directions for out of towners. However, they were always willing to help. We were surprised that there was no bellman or concierge, but it wasn't a major problem for us. Parking was expensive, but no more so than at other hotels in the area. I would definitely stay in this hotel again!! Rent a bike at one of the public racks, and ride the Mall and great bike paths. That was a great and unexpected adventure. ...read more

Staff were generally very courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean.
I asked for a disposable razor on two occasions and it was never delivered. I also asked for a wakeup call on Monday and I was not given a wake up call. However, to compensate me, they did not charge me for one day's internet.

Good hotel to stay.

The hotel had a great lobby, restaurant and happy hour. The room itself was quaint but nice. The location was close enough to walk to all the tourist attractions and far away enough to interact daily with locals. The staff here was great!
The bathroom was only large enough for one person at a time but served its purpose. The television was hard to work, no directions or available channels provided. The room doors were heavy with no stopper which led to a lot of slamming doors.

I was happily surprised with this hotel. Our room was ready for early check-in which was a bonus. Although quaint, the room was clean and updated. You could even crack your windows open which was nice. The lobby and restaurant were very pretty. Locals even came to the hotel for the nightly happy hour. The location was close to all tourist attractions with about a 10 minute walk to the White House and 15-20 minute walk to museums and monuments. The Metro is 4 blocks away and there is a bike share around the corner. I heard little noise from other guests with the exception of slamming doors; ourselves included as if you forget to hold the door, its heavy enough with no spring to slam on its own. The television and cable could use an upgrade. We wanted to watch a baseball game and couldn't find what channels were provided as there was no guide or directions with channel line up. All guests have 24 access to a small fitness room and business center which was handy for printing our boarding pass. The food is pricey and mediocre. There is no mini fridge which was disappointing as we had to create a makeshift cooler with the ice bucket and sink. All in all, I would definitely stay here again! ...read more

This hotel is in a good location.
The room was stuffy & warm, even with the air conditioner running, after calling front desk, they sent a guy to check it out, only to find out that the room thermostat just turned it on or off, the temp is set by a central control that won't go below 74.

The rooms were great in this hotel. We were in a single queen, one of only a few, and it was plenty of room for 2 people. The business center allowed us to print documents and go online. The cookies were good at check-in were delicious too.
No cons from us during this stay!

Comfortable beds, nice staff, good location, got good directions when checking out to head to our next destination. We forgot our deoderant, and they provided us with complimentary supplies! Even though parking was not free, they provided us with quick service when retrieving our car when needed. I would stay there again.

The location of the hotel was convenient to our visit.
The rooms were very small and parking was very expensive. Parking is always expensive for downtown hotels, but it doesn't ever become any less frustrating!

The hotel was convenient for our purposes. We were there to see a concert and not do any site seeing. For the museums and the national mall staying at this hotel would require you to walk about 1/2 mile to the metro station to take you to that area, or you could walk about a mile. For us that would be ok, but it is good to note and would possibly sway others to stay closer to the mall area. The hotel was very clean but our room was a lot smaller than I expected for this star level. ...read more

helpful staff
would like to have been closer to metro and had breakfast included in room

liked the general neighborhood, loved being near a Whole Foods and CVS, safe neighborhood to walk, took more taxis than metro because 4 blocks to station and weather was main factor. Blustery winds and cold. Staff very helpful and personable, liked access to business center. excellent benefit to use computer to research or book attractions we wanted to see and to adjust our schedule to match the weather ...read more

Smallest room ever. We had to almost crawl over the bed to get to the other side of the room. Bathroom was a joke. One place to stand. Lean left for the sink, sit down for toilet or step right into bathtub. Shut the door you have to step into the tub.
The ROOM!

Sorry if you get this hotel using Make your price. You will probably get these small rooms if you bid under a XXX in the Dupont area.

perfect location....restaurant service, bar, staff all super friendly
I was given one of the "priceline rooms," in the back of the hotel, off the elevator, next to the ice machine. AND. There was no window in my room....these priceline rooms are converted from the janitor's former office, or the plumber's storage

hotel needs a total renovation, but like avis, the staff tries harder-there oughtta be a law against putting a customer in a room with no window!
