Hotel Guest Reviews of the Gulfview Hotel - On The Beach

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

the view of the ocean, & live band at Shephards.
I expected a little kitchen, not a 3 in 1, stove, sink & fridge.

the view is awesome. they have a live band at the hotel next door which the guy at the front desk warned me about saying they play till about 3am, & he wasn't lying but I enjoyed it. I don't really have anything negative to say just wish the room was more " up to date" with the whole kitchenettething.

Great location, balcony view of the Gulf. Outdoor pool and hot tub.
Parking lot is too small, is not good.

location was great short walk to pier 60 next to sheaperds.
the beach at the hotel was terible, the whole hotel smelled like raid especially in the room, the ac leaked water in the room but mostly on the patio.

had a good time even though the hotel was terible. the area was great.

The location
Yes, the gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude and threatening as a female. I have stayed at that hotel many times, and was never treated so poorly by an employee. I will be contacting his supervisor. He ruined my stay.

Price.
The hotel next door.

The rooms were nice and had probably been recently renovated. The bedspread was as old as I was and there weren’t enough pillows provided. The cleaning service did a nice job daily with the room, but the only was to get a full ocean view was through a window and not a balcony. The beach was filthy there were cigarette butts everywhere and trash all over.

The ice machine and in-room television worked.
The slider to the balcony didn't completely close. Breakfast was an offensive joke.

Leave this hotel to the financially struggling twenty-somethings who are content falling asleep drunk on the beach. I was very disappointed that the hotel wouldn't refund my third night when my 5-year-old daughter fell sick and we had to leave the place because I'm certain they would've been able to re-rent the space. The beach area was littered with garbage and very limited. Being bordered by other private beaches limited the ability to roam. The 'continental breakfast', a big reason for my choosing this hotel, was unhealthy sugar 'pastries', sugary 'juice', and plain bagels with prepackaged jam/cream cheese, so disappointing. I quickly realized why many were walking next door to IHOP for breakfast. I was afraid to take my daughter to the beach in the evening/sunset hours while the party was raging at the bar next door due to the number of drunks stumbling the sands. ...read more

Friendly staff , nice pool and beach.
Room was unclean and needs upgrading, noisy area due to neighboring party hotels on each side.

It was convenient to have kitchen area with accessories, laundry room , to much noise for seniors from both sides of motel.

The staff were uniformly cheerful and helpful.
Parking and accessibility from main road.

I would suggest that anyone wanting to stay in the Clearwater area consider this hotel for the price, location and comfort. Why pay more, when you are just as happy here. White beach is beautiful and private.
