Hotel Guest Reviews of the Econo Lodge Montpelier

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was convenient to NECI which is the reason why we came to Vermont. It was also near other tourist attractions which we visited while we were there.
The room was too small.

The first thing we noticed was how small the room was! We had booked a room with two queen beds so there wasn't much room for anything else. The bathroom was also extremely small. It was, however, conveneint to the main attractions in Vermont. We came to visit the New England Culinary Institute and it was only minutes away. We figured since we weren't going to be spending much time in the hotel room anyway, why spend a lot of money? There weren't many other guests there so it was quiet and we were not disturbed. ...read more

It wasn't overcrowded and the staff was friendly.
Not really.

A good place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Better than most budget mom and pop places.

Nearby parking.
Overall did not fit the advertisement of a quality economy hotel.

It did not have standard network television so we were unable to watch the Olympics. The Internet signal was very weak. We could not rely on their wi-fi for our Internet needs. Doors open to a public hallway with no security and room locks were minimal. Anyone could wander into the hotel. Finally continental breakfast was pitiful and there was not enough room for guests to sit.

We only stayed one night.
Looked like a war zone. Room smelled. Shower horrible. Air conditioning lousy.

Looks like it is on the verge of collapsing. Interior is early American rummage. Rugs in rough shape.

Close to destination, staff was friendly, coffee was not bad.
Everything else.

The worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. I slept on top of the covers in my clothes because it was so late by the time I checked in (1:00 a.m.). Out of 4 pillows, I found 1 that looked fairly clean and did not have someone else's hair on it! The room smelled like mold. Breakfast was included, I had a bowl of stale cereal and 2 sausage links. When I went to get a yogurt it was one week past the use by date. Only saving grace, the coffee was not bad. ...read more

The shower curtain.
It was dirty/dusty; the manager was unavailable when we had a problem; there was no hot water in the morning.

We had no hot water the morning after our stay; the manager was unavailable and so we were not given any kind of discount or compensated in any way for this inconvenience.
