The front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful, warm and courteous.
There was a terrible odor in the public areas - kind of like sewage covered up with an industrial sweet smelling artificial scent. There was also a slight, but noticeable smell in the bathroom in our room, which smelled a bit like a public restroom.

Fabulous experience from start to finish. We were awed by the beautiful lobby and room plus friendly. English speaking personnel.
We loved everything about this hotel. It would be helpful to have a bar to aid getting out of the narrow granite tub.

Right in the shopping district, the Gran Melia Colon is a gorgeous modern hotel with helpful English speaking staff and a fabulous breakfast buffet. It was our favorite hotel on a ten day trip.
