It was very old and looked run down. There was nothing to this hotel that would give it a 5 star rating.

If location is your major criteria, the Grand is a good bet. Buyer beware when bidding on a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam central. It is old, and run down and has no spectacular features to it, I was totally disappointed.

The hotel was depressing, dark and dingy. Staying at this hotel ruined my experience in Amsterdam.
