Hotel Guest Reviews of the Grosvenor House, A J.W. Marriott Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great location right by Hyde Park in Mayfair.
Rooms were a bit small but to be expected in London

Beautiful historic hotel right off of Hyde Park in Mayfair. Great central location, helpful and very friendly staff and well appointed decor.

Very helpful check in with Mark, upgraded room when they didn't have to, surprise birthday cheesecake, great location and classy surroundings.
Only room for improvement was the mattress for my room (twin nearest the closet) was a bit old (bowed, and lumpy), so I would replace that mattress with a newer, firmer one.

Everything you would hope a modern British hotel to be. Heathrow Express to Paddington (£20 in advance, £25 purchase on the train) and a £10 taxi drive puts you at this Park Lane/Hyde Park gem in about 45 minutes from the airport. 5 minute walk to Marble Arch station and pre-planning/paying for a Visitor's TravelCard (£55.60 plus 4.25 shipping for one week's Underground, British Rail and Buses) makes traveling to all major sites within London and close vicinities a breeze. As a J.W. Marriott, you expect a certain level of classy-ness and service, which is what we received. Our room was upgraded from a Deluxe to a Superior Room due to our requests for a non-smoking room with twin beds. Due to my birthday, they did such free of charge, and included a room-delivered cheesecake, which shows you the generosity and warmth of the staff. Rooms are beautifully and modernly appointed, with a touch of British tradition to mark the location. Wonderful common areas, a steakhouse and Starbucks in-facility--who could ask for more?Would gladly stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for more than a bargain-basement accommodation. ...read more

Incredible hotel at a great price. Was treated like royalty. Loved the gym which is fully stocked.
Hard to fault. The beds are a little small and when I wanted a room with 2 beds, they could only accommodate 2 small doubles. they were comfortable, however.

Excellent location on Park Lane. Easy access to tube and rest of London. Lots of restaurants nearby. Many major attractions within walking distance.
I did not have any issues, but while the Priceline rate was excellent, this is an expensive hotel so expect to pay a lot for mostly everything else. Located in Mayfair area so restaurants will be pricey as well.

Excellent location on Park Lane. Easy access to tube and rest of London. Hyde Park is right across the street, Buckingham Palace about 20 minute walk, and Harrods about 15 minutes by foot. Lots of restaurants nearby. Many other major attractions within walking distance. I did not have any issues, but while the Priceline rate was excellent, this is an expensive hotel so expect to pay a lot for mostly everything else. For example Internet access is 20 pounds/day. Excellent tea room and nice brasserie style restaurant on premise. Located in Mayfair area so restaurants can be pricey, although there definitely are some inexpensive restaurants over toward Marble Arch. Lost of shopping within 30 minutes of the hotel, especially if you walk over to the other side of the park to the Knightsbridge area near Harrods. US embassy is couple of blocks away. Paddington Station is 10 minute cab ride. Hotel was renovated within the last 10 years after Marriott acquired the property and is well maintained. Definitely on par with other 5 star London hotels. I found the staff to be vey professional and helpful across a number of stays at this property. ...read more

Prices seemed quite excessive for services not included in my room rate. Internet fees and meal prices were so excessive that I chose to make other arrangements during most of my stay.

Great location and great service!
Internet was advertised in free in common areas when actually it was only free for one hour a day.

Staff goes above and beyond to meet your expectations. The location is so convenient - even though the weather was bad you could still get out and walk around and explore the area. The subway station was very close by and there was lots of great shopping and restaurants. We ate one night at the hotel in the JW Steakhouse - the food was excellent but very expensive. Our waiter was pleasant and attended to our every need. All in all - a great hotel to stay at!! ...read more
