Welcome to the Hampton Inn Charleston-Historic District
With free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a downtown location, our guests call the Hampton Inn Charleston-Historic District a great value.
The five-story, 171-room hotel is housed in a converted 1860s railroad warehouse. The lobby has a fireplace and the furnishings are antebellum inspired, except for the large flat-panel TV for guests' enjoyment. The hotel has a large courtyard for relaxation and recreation, where the outdoor pool is located. There is a 24-hour business center and free Wi-Fi, so you can work wherever you carry your laptop. You can work out, too, in the fitness room. Free breakfast is served daily. Parking is never easy in a city, but the hotel has it available to guests for a fee.
The Hampton Inn is located in the historic district of downtown Charleston, a 12-mile drive from Charleston International Airport. Called the Museum Mile, this neighborhood is a great area for walking, with lots of traditional Southern architecture and plenty of dining options. The city's visitors' center is next door to the hotel, and America's oldest museum, the Charleston Museum, is just a block away. Just one block away is King Street, renowned for its many and varied boutiques with everything from souvenirs to precious antiques. It's less than one mile to the waterfront and the acclaimed South Carolina Aquarium, where you'll also get a great view of the harbor.
Free breakfast, a historic location, a well-known name and a great deal — you get it all at this Hampton Inn.

Great location, right across the street from the free trolley, and we LOVED our room on the first floor which opened up to the courtyard area. We could come and go through the courtyard, a very nice feature. Kids loved the bean bag toss game in the courtyard. Waffles for breakfast a nice surprise. Coffee Tea and Hot Chocolate served all day long in the lobby came in handy. Would definitely recommend to families. ...

If you're looking for location this is the best hotel to get. Especially for going downtown, nightlife, and staying in the historic ddistrict. Everything is walking distance! Staff is really nice, even gave us a 30 minute extension for check out.

The hotel is on Meeting street and John Street, right behind the visitor center and CARTA (bus authority), so it is very convenient to get information about the city. The room is quiet and comfortable. The staff are friendly. But the breakfast is somewhat boring - - same food every day. I recommend it anyway.
