Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hawthorn Suites Hotel Alexandria

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Quality service. Entire staff was friendly and helpful.

Though the hotel room we had seemed to be aging a bit, everything about this hotel was exceptional. The personnel were extremely helpful. The complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails were much appreciated. The complimentary connector van to the Washington Metro was a welcome feature.

They had included breakfast.
Far from metro station. A shuttle was needed to come and go from the Van Dorn metro station.

I loved the free dinner that came with the room! The staff was very nice. And I loved the fresh fruit, and the free beer & wine each week night.
The breakfast wasn't so great if you have a gluten allergy. The original room we had was not as described and had to be changed.

I would recommend this hotel. I had misgivings, but having a free dinner on the weeknights, and the breakfast, and all the apples and bananas freely available cut down on our trip cost. The guests were happy and friendly, as were the staff. There was free beer and wine to go with dinner. The van picked you up at the metro stop and dropped you off, and would also take you to the airport. ...read more

Meals, shuttle to Metro, staff.
The pool was un-usable and green slime. It needed a good cleaning and refill.

We had to pay +$40 per night for our 3 night stay to obtain a room that had 2 beds, and then one was a sofa fold out. I feel we were screwed. The hotel was good once past that but was not in line price wise with other hotels in the area. We would have chosen another hotel at the price we paid here.

Location, and free breakfast.
Do not like front desk personnel response, not good quality room service.

Very disappointed.

This hotel is a great value -- they offer a complimentary dinner/happy hour and breakfast buffet as well as shuttle service to metro.
It would have been nice to have an indoor pool.

Great value--would definitely recommend to anyone traveling with a family to the D.C. area. The room was clean and comfortable with a kitchenette and Mondays through Thursdays they offer complimentary happy hour with a basic meal--not gourmet fare, but certainly adequate, as well as a breakfast buffet and shuttle service to the metro. The staff was very friendly and helpful--it's not within walking distance to Downtown Alexandria, but it is a fairly short drive to Downtown old town and very close to shopping mall and chain restaurants. ...read more

It is a suite so there was a small kitchen which was very nice. The staff was friendly.
It was cold; no heat or AC at 65 degree temperature. Staff brought blankets, but it was cold to try and work, people were wearing coats outside.
